I have been communicating with Mike today and trying different things. He says wiring looks correct to him and we proved that the relays are good. Switched back to factory bulbs, but that didn't solve anything. So I unhooked the harness and plugged back into factory sockets and everything is back to normal for now. I am in for the evening and will try your suggestion another day when I have time. Thank you.

Ordered the 28'th, shipped the 2'nd and arriving today the 6'th. Hopefullly I'll have better luck with the harness than some other folks have been reporting. I'll edit the post when the lights are in and its dark!

    EDIT:
Harness arrived priority mail and was packed with much care. I cannot stress the quality of this product. Very impressed.

Did a test of the harness while mocked-up and all functions were operational. Install was super straight forward. Rubber boots surrounding the bulbs were the biggest PITA of the project. It cannot get dark fast enough...

Surprising life from my bulbs... My original set of Osram Hyper 85/80w 2400 lumen H4s lasted almost two years. The Osram Super Bright 100/90w 2900 lumen H4 with which I replaced them failed yesterday, amost two years after I installed them.
Thanks to @smmarine, I'm back on Osram Hyper 85/80w 2400 lumen H4s.

Yeah the quality on the Headlight Services product is top notch. Did you get a chance to test them out last night?

Lucky on the Hypers! 2 years is a long time. I swapped bulbs last Dec, and I typically get 1 year like clockwork. I need to make sure to put some spares in my truck as that one year mark is coming up.

With the standard 20% off coupon at PowerBulbs, they usually go for $12.60 with free shipping an no tax since they are out of the UK. Those ones on amazon are legit, note though the seller is not Osram. Amazon's layout is a bit misleading, the product is by Osram, not the seller. The default seller is DC Autoparts right now (I believe amazon defaults to the lowest price so it is subject to change, but you can chose other sellers manually). Some of amazons sellers do not package bulbs very well. I've had them arrive loose in partially crushed boxes with no packing material, but that doesn't mean all amazon sellers ship that way.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah you're right. That seller does have a solid rating though. I just wasn't sure what they cost so that really surprises me! Definitely doing this upgrade.

So you'd definitely recommend the Headlight Services harness, correct?

Definitely the Headlight Services harness, the quality and build is top notch. You can see my side-by-side comparison with the Rallylights harness here.

Yes, but it is still 10% less than the Rallylights harness while getting a way better built product with higher quality components. And he charges half of what Rallylights does for shipping. So over all it is still a very good buy.

Yeah, I may upgrade and take a loss on the rallylights harness myself.

I had the 100/90s in for about 2 years and they were still working when I sold the truck. I don’t drive much due to a take home patrol car. Put 30k on my Taco in 4 years.

Those Hypers should last you 2 years or so. They were literally in my truck about 2 weeks. The filaments still looked unused.

On a side note, I kinda miss my Taco :pout:

I have that harness, stock Pro headlights, and GE Megalights and it's a very noticeable improvement. A great, useful truck mod.

Not exactly ultimate headlight related, but, I finally got a dedicated storage solution for the space station power supplies!

    948AE143-A580-4DBB-ABAF-81CD7799AA3B.jpg

    82DFD098-C10D-47E1-A6C0-D6B5893299EF.jpg

Seems ridiculously minor I know. My previous tool chest could not fit the space station units as they were too tall, meaning they were stored in their protective boxes. This also provides a dedicated platform for the power supplies, with their storage right underneath, meaning setup and tear down is now much faster than before. Best of all since I am not setting up space consuming temporary benches for testing, I don’t have to break anything down to pull my truck in for the night. All this leads to more efficient light testing. :)

Scrubbed through as many of the posts in this thread as I could, so forgive me if I simply missed it, but can anyone post up the part numbers for the 2018 Tacoma Pro headlight (black) housings? The numbers on the OP are for the Gen 2 far as I can tell? I'm a bit newb so please forgive my search deficiencies.

Welcome! This is a 2nd Gen headlight thread, while I don’t have your part numbers on hand, this is the 3rd Gen headlight thread over here:

    So initial thoughts:

Bulb brightness is remarkable over stock. People who say that halogens do not have "cut off" are severely mistaken. My previous bulbs are the ones that came from the factory, installed in December 2012. The new bulbs, German OSRAM 100/90W have a very clear horizontal and vertical cut off.

I'm beyond impressed with this upgrade and am so glad I found this and the other @crashnburn80 lighting threads. Cheers!
