Holy smokes, that doesnt look good.
I think the only way you could get that glass out of there is to pull the headlight and try to get it out of the bulb hole. But it is likely going to scratch the hell out of the reflective coating. Are those lenses dusty? Or are they starting to craze?

They’re brand new, that haze is the stuff the bulb left behind inside

That is really disheartening on brand new assemblies. I think the options are:

    1) Create some home made straw like attachment on the end of a shop vac and try to vacuum out the remains. Use something as soft as possible to avoid scratches.
    2) Remove the headlight, vacuum what you can and flush with water to get out the powder residue, let dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
    3) Bake the assembly to remove the lens so you can manually clean the internals, and then reseal the lens.

Already ordered a new one... the parts managers going to see if they warranty it. If not I’ll pull it apart. I tried last night to get the crap out and nothing really worked

I'm going to go way out on a limb and suggest that you might be impressed. This mod and my Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fogs are the best mods I ever made.

Received my Headlight Services Harness in the mail today. It is very nice and will be a significant upgrade to the stock system. Waiting on the Bulbs and MilSpec Battery Termials to show up now.

Put in GE Megalight +150s about 4 months ago and had the drivers side go out today. Even with the harness that burned out unusually fast. I liked the GEs but I have the Osram Super Bright 100/90w going in next.

EDIT: Man looking at the amp draw chart, the Osrams might not even make it as long as the GEs. If I understand that right.

My Osrams last about a year. I burn mine anytime the truck is on and I drive an hour to work and an hour home 5 days a week.

I think I had some Philips bulbs before the GEs and got a year out of those. I know with the harness the bulb life is less than normal but 4 months, come on. Mine aren't on as much as yours are, I'm only a couple miles from work.

I have the Headlight Services Harness. You have to have an aftermarket harness to run the Osrams H4 100/90 bulbs. The Osram factory in Germany probably has a higher quality control standard than the GE factory in China does.

Yeah put that harness in last summer sometime so should be good to go with the Osrams.

I don't recall what the life rating on the GEs is. I know the performance H11s GEs are 150 hours, but that is a different bulb. The Osram 100/90w H4s are 200 hours. 4 months is pretty short though. With performance bulbs you only want to use them when you need them, aka not drive with your headlights on during the day due to their shorter lifespan. I get a year out of my Osrams, although I expect this current set to last a little longer since we are quarantined and not driving anywhere.

GE's bulbs are made in Hungry.

I was trying to save the bulbs and use my DRL a lot so these didn't have a lot of "on" time. Maybe just got a bad one.

I do the same with the DRL, since that is their purpose. Even with good quality control it is always possible to have a fluke.

Do the Philips give a nice white output like leds or do they have that yellow tint like the stock halogens?

They are whiter than stock but not LED white.

    Stock ~3150k
    Philips +150 ~3600k
    LED 5000-6500k

To get output that is remotely near LED white, you need heavy blue coatings on the bulb which will greatly reduce output. If really wanting a whiter bulb, I wouldn’t recommend going over a 4000k halogen. Products like Silverstars are in that range, but it isn’t a performance product and will likely be lower output than a stock bulb, but the color will be whiter. Attempting 5000k in a halogen will have dismal output. Note that the performance bulbs listed in this thread have partial coatings, the manufactures attempt to not coat critical areas on the bulb around the filament to avoid harming output. For 4000k you’ll need a fully coated bulb, which is why they will not perform as well.

@crashnburn80 . Do the Hikari Ultras in the Low Beam Projectors need to be clocked 3 & 9 ? Or is it just the highs ?
    Thanks
