Hmmm, interesting. I wonder how hard it would be to get rid of the blue coating? Tell us what you think after you get them installed.

Nice! I think we ordered about the same time but I’m farther West so I should hopefully have mine soon.

Nice. I also got a package from Powerbulb. Not the Race visions but Tungsram Megalight +130s. Let us know. I really would like to gift a pair for my brother.

The blue coating does cut down on light output. That's why I wondered. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using steel wool though.

If the light guru says it's a good idea then I will try it.

Not having the blue coating is a good idea. Removing it may not be a good idea though as it might risk shortening bulb life.

I just ordered a set for my 2006 Scion xB daily driver. We'll see how they work in that. I have the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade in my Tacoma, so no need for these there.

It was something that came up from the Osram Hyper bulbs being discontinued and the only remaining ones for a short while being the All Seasons with the less than ideal diffractive coating. It was a creative solution to continue running clear Hypers. In the case of the Philips, it is just the blue at the bulb base that ideally shouldn't be there, the blue at the tip doesn't do anything. I'm sure a new bulb like the Philips +200s are made of quartz and not glass, so it should be more abrasion resistant, but if you even just slightly scratch the bulb, the life could be compromised. Quick google searching shows Quartz has a Mohs harness of 7 vs steel wool a harness of 4 so it should be safer than doing it on the original hypers which were made from glass. I cannot say I'd recommend doing anything that could potentially compromise the bulb though.

Blue banding looks very dark. Looking forward to some more testing Crash. Any chance you'll test those selective yellow osrams as well?

Was planning on doing all 3 (Philips + 2 prototype Osrams) once I have the rack swapped to 2nd Gen lights. 2nd Gen lights are bit more work to setup.

Does anyone know of any Install videos for this wiring harness on a 2014? It came with instructions but the pictures are super dark and I'm a little nervous. Ive never worked on my trucks electrical. I searched Youtube and this threshold for a install video but I can find one.

Also, can anyone verify I got the right parts? I'm pretty sure I did, I just always second guess myself. I'm just replacing the bulbs and harness on my 2014. Keeping the stock housing.
