First order was for 4, 2 of those being extra. Then I thought about it and ordered enough I don't need to worry about it for a good while.

It's now 2021 and my 2011 Tacoma needs new headlight assemblies because the originals are yellowed and cracked. I'm surprised there's no condensation in them! Anyway, the dealer wants $720 for a replacement set, plus installation of course. Are there any less expensive sources for OEM headlight assemblies, or really good aftermarket halogen assemblies? All the reviews I've seen on Amazon indicate that poor weather sealing and resultant condensation are a frequent problem with aftermarket headlights. So, any recommendations are appreciated! :)

@AlaskanMariner check the fist post in this thread. About halfway down that post there are links for TRD Pro OEM headlight assemblies. ~$200 each for OEM, can't go wrong.

I had noticed a couple days earlier that the passenger side didn’t have a very good hot spot when I pulled up to the garage door. I’ll keep spares in the truck and keep an see if I can catch it earlier before they fail. I’m surprised they went so fast, Ryland and I put them in back in mid September. I do drive with my headlights on all the time so I don’t get hit head on while driving HWY 20

Blain, Thanks! I did look at that earlier today but the links only showed drawings that look nothing like the headlight assemblies on my Tacoma. So, I was confused, especially since that original (and VERY helpful first post) is from 2015.

Oh, I did send an email to EB Toyota parts asking for clarification. If I don't hear from them by Friday I'll try to call them.

Fortunately, I have Rigid Fog lights that are street legal and I can use to supplement my somewhat dim headlights :)

Yeah, that's weird they show a different pic, but that's the correct part number. You can put that part number into google and see the images associated with it and it's the correct one. I bought my new headlights a couple months ago using those part numbers.

I just bought Toyota OE headlights for my 2006, online from Conicelli Toyota of Springfield, PA. With their free shipping over $70 the pair were $343.20 shipped PA to CA. Shipped in 2 boxes with factory fit padding in each box. Can't say enough good things about the process. Ordering is online only.

    taco912,
Thanks! I checked with them and their free shipping saved me $116 over what EB Toyota Parts wanted to charge for shipping! Headlights for my 2011 Tacoma were more expensive -- $489 -- but that's way less than the $720 the local dealer wanted to charge me :)

BTW, the parts guy, Gary, actually called me to notify me of an error I made and told me the correct part numbers I needed. That's great service!

Finally received all the components. Installed the bulbs last week and adjusted my cut-off (ashamed to say I didn't do it sooner after lifting the truck). That upgrade alone made a noticeable difference. Today I got the harness wired up, and I can't wait to test it out tonight.

Get a chance to try it out yesterday in somewhere without too much urban light?

I did, and it was a huge upgrade. I thought the bulbs alone were adequate, but once i got the harness in....now I see what all the hubbub was about. So cool to have resources like you available on this forum.

I got lucky and found a nearby parking garage that was pretty much vacant (found a COVID perk). Disconnected my washer reservoir to make some space to work. Took all of 15 minutes and aside from not blinding others, I'm throwing more light on the road ahead of me.

figured out my issue with the harness for my tundra. The fog light circuit grabbing its 12V from the high beams was the problem.. remove pin 11 on the stalk and feed it ignition source and now i have working highs and lows and fogs.. and i've effectively created any time fog mod in my own way..

I installed my harness last night and although I only tested it in my driveway, which has a lot of light pollution, the light output is down right impressive. The color temp looks great and the high beam is just crazy. I’m looking forward to some real world use.

I also installed the HIR reverse bulbs and am looking to change out my bd fogs for some dd’s pretty soon.

Thanks again crash for all the testing you do and for putting this information out there.

curious if anyone has replaced the relay holder on their headlight solutions harness. i'd like to get something that mounts a little bit nicer and to put a 3rd relay in so i can bundle this harness with my harness for my horns.
