Lots of posts on this subject if you use the Search function, but let me provide a short answer. You can "restore" most oxidized headlights, but it becomes a question of what kind of result you're looking for. On a 2007, I'd suggest (without seeing them) that they're probably pretty crispy. That said, you can wet sand and polish them into much better condition, but probably not "like new" condition. If you don't follow up the polishing with a UV resistant clear coat though, they will return to oxidized condition relatively quickly.

Thanks for the quick response, I think I'll try to sand/polish and clear coat first and see how they come out. And I did find the headlight restoration page after I posted this. Have a great weekend.

I’d give it a try. Wet sand stepping up throw the grits to either 1500 or 2000, then compound, the polish, then wax. If you want to apply a clear coat, do that before the wax

I have done this a couple of times on my '06. Seems to last only 6-8 months, never tried with a clear coat. Just bought new factory headlights waiting to install.

Sanding/restoring headlights removes the UV stabilization coating. Without a clear coat or maintenance UV coating (which requires reapplying in regular maintenance intervals) UV will quickly degrade the unprotected plastic lens to worse than before.

That would probably be the best idea. I'm guessing you have to do a 10-20% restocking fee plus the shipping right? Just calculate half of what that is and apply it as a discount for the headlights. That way you're not losing as much money and someone is getting a slight deal.

Just wanted to thank OP @crashnburn80 for this thread. I've been lurking this site for a while and finally thought to join - but I did the Pro headlight replacement with harness and 100W bulbs at the end of last year, and it's been a huge improvement.

Please explain further. A dual filament bulb like the H4 are not a bulb type that is available in a projector for retrofit. And projectors are lower performing than large reflectors, which the 2nd gens have stock. So unless you are doing a higher end custom HID retrofit with OEM grade components, this halogen upgrade will likely be superior at a fraction of the price while adhering to the KISS principle.

Checkout this post combining my 3rd Gen projector and 2nd Gen reflector headlight data in a combined chart. 2nd Gen for the win.

I installed the Philips +150 Racing Vision bulbs today. (The design of the clips holding in the bulbs sucks BTW). The Philips are noticeably brighter than the Sylvania Silverstars, and they have a much more distinct cutoff with a wider peripheral throw than the Silverstars (Especially to the right side of the road). The top photo are the Philips +150 bulbs in new OEM housings with a HD wiring harness with only low beams on. The bottom is the same except with Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. I really wish I picked a different location without the grade and curve in the road because I feel like it gives it a premature light cutoff compared to what I see on a straightaway. Anyways, I'm very pleased with this setup and have no additional plans to mess with it.
