The ultimate headlight upgrade H4 (not LED or HID)

Brand new here y’all so forgive my ignorance!

Are the DSL 250s being referenced the 65 watt 2100 lumen H11 bulb on DSL’s website?

 

No, this is a 2nd Gen thread, the bulbs being referenced are the H4 60/55W Osram-DSL +250.

If you have the stock fogs you could run those H11's there, they would give some serious ooomph...

 

Welcome! Those are some awesome H11 replacements, however for 3rd Gen low beams the Philips standard H9 swap will return similar performance for significantly less cost. As mentioned the DSL +250s are an H4 for 1st and 2nd Gen.

 

Question; Can you do this mod, with new harness and bulbs but on a set of cheap headlight housings like

You could but don’t expect the same output or nice cut off of the factory units. Could potentially melt the aftermarket housings depending on the quality of the units.

 

Damn that's no good, with this kind of output I'll need a nice cutoff so I don't scatter any light. I need replacement housing but the OEM ones will be $600.
