I fastened my blue sea to the factory fuse block lid. One solenoid for switched power for everything. I would have done something different but it's a battle for space with a catch can and supercharger components.

You mind taking a picture? Eventually I need to do some under the hood organizing for the same reason as you.

Bare with the mess. I almost finished my audio install yesterday. 2nd pick is where the master distribution block will be. Solenoid will be under it where the bolts are. Rockford fosgate battery terminals are going in too. 1st pic shows why a distribution block is needed. 20180924_070353.jpg

Thanks bud. I'm wanting ideas because sooner than later I'm going to need to clean things up under the hood and real estate is at a premium.

No problem. Need to find a battery mount for the passenger side. That would free up space.....and make changing headlights possible......and correct taco lean.....and

I was looking at that fused distribution panel myself, but for my solar and 2 x 6V deep cycle battery setup (220Ah).

    IMG_20180924_124055.jpg

Wouldn't mind a battery isolator as well in the mix so I can use the outlets in the truck as well as the tailgate outlet without running down the main battery... But that'll take some time, some rather expensive low AWG wire, and a bit more understanding of the Taco power system than I have.

Curious if any of you folks know, but is the 2nd gen (2006) Taco as simple as 1 wire off poss to the starter and the other wire off to the fuse box for all the other circuits? (Yes and then all the other wires we've all added - Stereo, Headlight Harness, etc)

If so, it seems then that an isolator may be pretty straight forward ...

Ideally, I could make use of the 4AWG wire I have run down to the back seat area from the battery already, and simply drop a set of wires from my battery box (in the bed behind it) to my distribution block that's anchored on the back wall... Although, I'll bet that I'll need YAPC to go from the truck bed all the way up to the Drivers side battery station... Hmmm. Gotta read up on this.

Bussman box then wire it yourself or there is a guy on FB that has them pre wired and sells them.

Bussman box? Different than the one already pictured? That was a 6 or 12 circuit with Ground / Neg side. Am curious about this Bussman box.

so whatseems to be the best white bulb out there for this swap? I did this about 1 year ago and the 'German Osram 100/90w 2900 lumen performance bulbs" seem too yellow for my liking. I want a whiter light, any suggestions?

May I ask why color is important? Curious.

Just my eye-sight i suppose? I prefer the white light. What do you think about the "OSRAM Night breaker laser 60/55w H4" ? I see them for a fair price on Amazon and about to pull the trigger.

I actually have the osram. I love them. Previously had super white LEDs. My eyes arent the best but I can see way better with the osram. I'll check out what you're looking at though. I live near @crashnburn80. He knows his stuff. I'm sure he would know if there was a superior bulb.

Interesting. The one thing I would hesitate on is if they are a knock off instead of authentic German made. I've been duped before buying on Amazon. My two cents.

Look at the ones from my post above. They are a very lovely white. :) Almost bluish at first then they break in and it's a really sweet white.

thanks for the reply guys, I am now curious as to them being genuine as well. That was a great point to bring up, if they aren't to my liking ill keep the OSRAM's in and just send them back.

Do you have a link to the Nightbreakers you are looking at? The high efficiency stock wattage bulb will put out less light but using a smaller tighter wound filament is going to concentrate light in the hot spot significantly more for better distance projection over a high wattage bulb, with the exception of the 85/80w Hypers.

These appear to be the most legit high wattage coated bulbs I’ve seen so far.

so I purchased this harness yesterday does anybody know about how long before they ship and is this something they have in stock? I have a 05 with original headlights and I also purchased new aftermarket ones off eBay from am-auto parts and going to use the osram night breaker laser for now was thinking I would be able to do it this weekend if I get the harness thanks

I received an email from Mike who does the harnesses. he had an unexpected death in the family which slowed his work down. He said I would get my harness by Wednesday. So I think everybody else will get theirs this week.

Don’t have the link off ha d, but they were on Amazon. $22 "OSRAM Night breaker laser 60/55w H4" was curious if these would be a better option than what I have now?
