I think I now have 11 bulbs of the 85/80w if you count the All Seasons. I picked up 4 yesterday from a local member. I prefer to think of it as 5 sets and a spare. It sounds less crazy that way.

So let me do a little quick math based on projected bulb life, average bulb usage per day, # hours in a day, # days in a year, high beam vs low beam usage, phases of the moon, etc. Hmmm, it would appear that you have enough bulbs to last 27.3 years. Yea, that's hoarding!

Hey guys, I just want you to know that I bought the wiring harness from http://www.headlightservices.com/Wiring.html that @crashnburn80 recommended and Im very pleased with it. Simple to install. Anyone can do it. The info that @crashnburn80 provides without a doubt hands down is on point and backed up with his comparisons. Truly informative. I ask myself, why doesn't this guy work for Toyota?? Or at least be a consultant to the automotive lighting industry??

Any ways, I ordered these bulbs from Amazon UK. When you do a search fr Amazon UK, click on the link and you will be required to log in with your regular Amazon credentials. I use my Amazon CC so there are no extra charges and the euros convert to USD at checkout. Prime was not offered though.

    and

    [IMG]2
2 of Osram All Season Super 64193ALS Spotlight Bulb

I had to order 2 of each so I have 2 sets. One for winter and one for summer. In total, it came to like $80 USD, plus I payed something like $4 USD to have them shipped quicker. No biggie.

So my idea is to carry a set of bulbs in the truck with a spare, so I bought this:

Waterproof Case | Pelican 1050 Micro Case - for iPhone, cell phone, GoPro, camera, and more(Yellow/Clear)

    Pelican 1052 Foam Set

And this is what Im carrying in the truck:

    IMG_4193.jpg

All Im saying is that Im glad we have some one like @crashnburn80 to help us understand the lighting and how to get the most out of the bulbs. Thanks bro!

I should have hoarded when they were available... My only set of Hyper 85/80w bulbs is installed. :(

When they're gone, they'll be replaced with what I consider to be the next best thing - Super Bright 100/90w bulbs.

I’d really suggest giving the All Seasons a shot if you don’t mind the slightly yellower color light. I like them more than the 100/90w Superbrights and they project better like the Hypers, because they are a Hyper bulb. I also actually find the warmer color easier on the eyes.

Nice case! I think a 2 bulb version would be slightly more ideal to save space in the glovebox but that is really sharp! Makes me want to invest in a better way to carry spares.

Which bulbs did you end up installing?

I too agree that the 85/80w All Seasons are easier on the eyes (and reflecting off street signs). The other difference I noticed is the 85/80w Hypers (the discontinued ones) had a stronger hotspot and I kind of miss that. But overall, I am happy with the All Seasons.

I currently have a set of the 100/90s installed. I’ve been running them for probably about 2-2.5 years now, and they’re still going. I’m quite happy with their lifespan. After removing them while waiting on my new harness, I can tell they are close to their end. I have a hoard of 100/90s and a pair of 85/80 hypers.

I picked up a few 85/80w All Seasons from @IMGROOT the other day who switched to a 3rd Gen. He pointed out an observation that myself and I think others have missed. Check out what is listed on the customs label for the Osrams.

    Any firefighters in here?

It just occurred to me watching something on TV, are you guys using “white” LED flashlights when going into a burning building? White LED light has very high refraction meaning it will not be effective in a smokey environment as all it is going to do is illuminate the smoke, rather than allowing the firefighters to see beyond the smoke.
