Maybe this has been covered in here already, but does the Headlight Services harness reduce the lifespan of an H4 bulb? If it's sending more power to the light, it makes sense to me that it might.

Nothing is free, running at higher voltage will slightly reduce life span. By exactly how much I am not certain. And inversely running at lower voltage and lower output will extend life span.

Thank you, every day I look at that harness and contemplate buying it because I have some new housings and Osram halogens I'm going to install. It was just something I was wondering.

Do it! I've run this upgrade for years, in two different trucks. The increased performance is worth the trade-off.

Which Osrams do you have? As @Norton mentioned the trade off in performance is definitely worth it IMO. Best part is it gives you higher performance regardless of which bulbs you decide to run, even stock wattage bulbs benifit.

I have the Night Breaker Laser H4. Have been waiting for the Never Ending Winter of 2018 to end to install all this stuff.

While they are an improvement over stock, I wasn't very impressed with the Nightbreaker Lasers in H11, I think they went overboard on the blue coating and trying to be too intricate around the filament. The GEs performed much better.

In other news, my power supplies ship out tomorrow, which is the last piece I need to start a better standardized comparison of the H4s.

Do the GE and Lasers have a similar bulb life? The GEs came around after I bought the Lasers but I'm not against trying them. It's only money! Good luck with your new tests, I enjoy reading the results

Looks like the Osram +150s are 200 hours, and the GE +130s are 250 hours, in H4 form.

Thanks again crashnburn80 for this thread. Eagerly waiting your upcoming bulb testing
Received my order from Headlight services a few weeks back, hope to install soon now its warmer. They had had a backorder on relays recently but let me know about the delay by email and it was only a couple of days, great customer service to inform the customer. I wish the company I ordered a front skid from had the same level of customer service....

I'm stoked of the upcoming testing as well, the power supplies should be in next week!

Headlight Services builds great harnesses, TacomaWorld keeps them extremely busy. And now the 3rd Gen guys want in on a 3rd Gen edition of the Headlight Services harness which will adapt H11->H9, making it a plug and play upgrade for those trucks.

Lets just say these allow room for growth. :D The units I wanted were out of stock, so that mean going lower power and cheaper or higher power and more expensive. Obviously the answer to that question is clear. These will power a 50" light bar, should the need ever arise.

Just got my harness from Headlight Services. Is there a video or guide on how to install this? I've never done anything electrical in my life before.

    Thanks
