I haven't, but if I recall correctly their lumen output was a little less however their bulb life was significantly less. Something like 150hrs Hella vs 200hrs Osram.

Also, noticed that the link in the OP for the 2005-2011 smoked headlight housings is for the pre-DRL TSB part #s (81130-04173 & 91170-04173). I can't find the part #s for the new replacement parts for just the housings, but the whole assembly is 81110-04210 & 81150-04210. I'm wondering if they only stock/sell the whole assembly. If anyone knows the part #s for just the housings (05-11, smoked) please post.

I can confirm that those are the updated parts. I've had to educate a couple of parts counter guys by pointing them to the tsb. They were unable to point me to part numbers for just the housing without reverting to the old pre-TSB parts.

Anyone do this mod and regret it, specifically as a long term review? I've seen a few say this and that or bulbs burnt out, which isn't a concern to me.

I think this will be my next mod to my truck, if even worst case scenario I have an upgraded headlight harness. Was tossing around idea of diy retrofit, but I don't want to have ballasts fail/reflector motors stop working, etc, and have to deal with warranty, which though is a minor problem since retrofit kits from the right sources are much improved over the stuff from even a couple years ago. Just rather deal with old reliable, even though retrofit kits look killer.

I think I am going to do the BHLM + harness upgrade and better bulbs and call it a day.

Bummed there aren't more output pics in here though, besides OP's and a few others.

The 100w bulbs are awesome. I hate dealing with HID kits and i dont want to do LED as its still crappy & too much effort or $ for retro fit. Below is some out put pics of the highwatt fogs and headlights from my whip

There are a few in the thread over the 37 pages. There is also a thread with first gen results pics:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/proper-headlight-upgrade.407879/

Pictures are so easily to manipulate, intentional or not, which is why my photos show side by side vs before and after. I've also got quantitative lumen measurements for real numbers vs just photos.

Ibwouldnt say regret it, but imo you can barely notice a difference. That's just my opinion though. If anything the harness is upgraded now lol

Thanks for the pics and input!

Yeah I do appreciate how yours in the OP show comparison shots. I know you can take a million different photos of the same scene and skew the lighting and how it really looks to human eye.

I appreciate the input! I do also think that it not looking too much brighter is good for me...i like that I won't be blinding people (even though my cutoff is adjusted properly anyway).

Im aware of one member who was not satisfied:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...e-not-led-or-hid.398066/page-17#post-11835092

But that could have been due to the color temperature difference. The halogen upgrade does not look sexy, it does not have the 'hyper white' or 'cool blue' look that is trendy. It is purely functional, same light color and look, 2x as bright.

Hard to see how you can barely tell the difference when the light output is scientifically measured to be 2x. Swap one bulb back to stock and run it on the factory harness, while you leave the 100w bulb in one the standalone harness. You will quickly see the difference.
