    IPFs website is just awful.

But yes I am familiar with them, I’ve run their Fatboys bulbs in the past. They subscribe to the same marketing BS as PIAA advertising their bulbs as 195/155w “equivalent” when they are actually 80/60w, or stock wattage. The high powered Osrams are going to be far brighter than anything I am aware of from IPF.

The Fatboy bulbs are a legitimate performance bulb, but not on par with a high wattage bulb. They turn up the wattage just a little, from 55/60 to 60/80. Many off road shops sell these as they don’t require a wiring upgrade and I believe have some connection to ARB, but their pricing is obscene, usually in the ballpark of $80 for 2 bulbs. I could add the Fatboys to the other bulb section in the thread.

What bulbs were you looking at specifically? The link is to their entire catalog.

Some thing comparable to 9005/9006 HIR bulbs...that i have in my Land Cruiser.

I’ve run them, technically 9011/9012 bulbs. Volsa has come out with some improved HIRs over what was available years ago, which is cool to see someone investing in that technology. Unfortunately they are only available in those 2 bulb types. Hard to beat drop in bulbs with 3000 lumens at stock wattage and no need for a harness.

I should add I run HIRs for my reverse lights:

I have some enroute for the reverse lights. But will most likely go the route you suggest in this thread

I did all three of these upgrades, must say they are awesome at my place with zero street or city lights. Thanks @crashnburn80 :)

Out of curiosity, where/how did you all mount your relays? I found a little grey thingy at the base of the battery and with a little finagling they all screwed down to it just fine. No tape or extra hardware required. I used the battery holder too for the positive leads.

I made a simple aluminum bracket that attaches to the batter hold down. Just a temporary solution till I install the pelfrey size 31 battery cage. (Note the bracket is electrically isolated or grounded technically, the red pos wire isnt connected to it, just kind of looks that way)

I made my own harness cause I wanted to tie my aux grill lights to the high beams (hence the 3 relays instead of 2, and the extra long loop of wire to run into a switch in the cab so I can disable them and run just the regular high beams for some reason). Also I was trying to do this mod as cheaply as possible and I already had all the wire/tools/etc. Only thing I didn’t have were the ceramic H4 sockets, which were a little hard to track down by themselves, and I’m not too happy with. Have a hard time getting the bulbs to actually plug in, like they’re not 100% the right size/shape.

The relay bracket is just 50 cents worth of 1” aluminum angle and an hour with an angle grinder, drill, and rivet tool. I could take some better pics, but probably won’t have time to make copies of it anytime soon.

I’ve hard mounted my relays in the past when doing this upgrade, but this time I did not. I’ve got 2 harnesses (headlights and fogs) I’ve just tucked the relays with a little extra wiring between my fender and battery. They are cozy and not going anywhere.
Nicely done! I’ve thought that if I were to get some aux lighting LED pods I’d do similar and wire them into the high beams.
