Kudos to yall who could... i wish i could... i work 2 jobs right now and can manage to barely pay rent, gas and all my utilities... i intend to pay all back to the parents who were gracious enough to help me out.

but dont even TRY to put me into the group of "people who we look down on for not paying for their own shit." i agree it would get annoying to be labeled as "just because i have nice shit means mommy and daddy got it for me" but guess what? its no better to go do the same thing in the other direction.

    just my .02

but again i think we all love what we drive and thats what we should focus on instead of trying to prove ourselves to people who really dont matter in the long run!

I just turned 22. I just bought mine brand new in September and I have a 1/4 of it paid off. I've been paying double or more of my required payments.

Also OWN a motorcycle, and a couple expensive bicycles.

My dad lost our apartment the day after my 17th birthday, I've been on my own since then.

Bought her in March (I'm 21)... there's a sense of pride in buying your own gear... you know you've entered man hood when you have truck payment.

No thanks...mortgages are probably the biggest financial trick played on the American public in the past 30 years or so...

    Regards to the thread subject:

Under 25 and paying for your truck is good. Under 25 and paying for your own everything is preferable. Purchasing a vehicle is awful easy when the rest of your existence is funded by someone else. Not saying that applies to everyone or anyone, just keep yourself grounded.

Was buying my own crap when I was under 25, and honestly I don't see how people don't... Maybe it is because I have been in the military since I was 18, and by 25 people usually have the title "Sergeant" before their name, but I can't see how "kids" / "young adults" aren't paying for their own shit by 21-22 years old...

    Im getting there......
I don't know about other people on here but hard work and investing is how I bought my truck (in cash) and how I am currently paying for college and plan to considering my investments and jobs hold up.....although my parents could afford to do both for me they are of the opinion that I will get more out of something I put my own money into.

I paid for mine but my parents bought it to begin with, and I paid them $200 or more every month until I paid them off.
