But not really; The little bastard was surprisingly intact and still showing signs of life when the whirling blades shot it back out...

 

Of the last 20,000 confirmed kills, none of them were in the Quakertown area...

 

One in Souderton over a year ago...

 

The only one even remotely near Quakertown so far, and it's from 2019...

 

I believe the app was launched in the spring of 2019, and I first started using it after a former coworker and his wife told me of its existence; Lehigh Valley area and far Northern Bucks County since 2019...

 

This just in...

 

But he's all the way out in Dauphin County, and that appears to be the same picture...

 

Actually it's not the same picture...

 

Anyway, I think the large areas with no kills are more the result of people with the app not exploring those areas; However, it still seems like lanternflies appear in my specific area (Central Bucks) later than in other areas...

 

I was at my friend's house in New Hope last month and saw three of them on his back deck (though I didn't kill them); I have only seen two live lanternflies at my house in the last couple of weeks...

 

At the place where I used to work, it was not uncommon for me to kill hundreds of the little bastards in a few hours (I still work for the same company, but at a different location a couple miles away)! I have only seen two or three at my previous workplace this year, and they either got away or were out of reach to begin with...

 

The last two seasons, lanternflies loved hanging out along the foundation of my house, on the side that wasn't facing the sun (dependent on the time of day)...

 

It just shy of 10am on Sunday, September 12th, 2021; The "garage side" of the house (above) is in the sun, while the "air-conditioner side" (below) is not...



Still no lanternflies though; Again, like I said the other day, my best kill records in a single day were after summer had officially ended...

 

Nuked one at work just now!

 

And that's two! Sadly, the most I've killed in a day this year...
