By the way, I’m not hating on the old folks or those with shoulder injuries. I’ve got a torn rotator cuff myself. When my injury was fresh I definitely wouldn't be able to lift the hood. I could barely raise my arm enough to put on deodorant. Hope your shoulder heals up well!

You buy that Pro hood yet? Not sure you have a lot of room to talk.

When airing up my tires after off-roading, and it's after dark, under-hood lights are great when trying to hook the air compressor to the truck battery. Sure, it can be done by feel in the dark or with a flash light, but under-hood lights are convenient.

I think if your definition of “mod” is cutting, burning, or grinding metal, you’re going to be pretty disappointed. Not a lot people willing to hack up their $40k+ truck lol.

I guess I’ve always viewed a “mod” as something that changes the vehicle from stock form. Whether that’s a CMC or somebody changing out the grill or dash bezel, it’s not the same as it was stock when purchased, so I’ve always considered that modified. Obviously there are different levels of modifications and, of course, this is just my opinion on the subject.

I don't regret it, but do admit spending the $25 or so for the red push start button was probably pretty worthless.
    Looks cool, though.

Thanks for the laugh - I've been there with my taco. I've got 303 smeared all over just about every plastic piece on this damn thing.

Nothing worse than having a new truck that you take off road and trying to keep up with cleaning it. It was kinda nice having my old mitsubishi montero that I beat to hell and never washed, but it left me stranded twice and was the reason I sprung for the new toyota.

Hood struts have been one of my favorite mods so far. I went with the no drill, no riveting option.

I would disagree about the lights. There have been numerous times when I have thanked Zeus I have had my front bumper LED bar combo lights when ending up off road at night, especially on some of the rougher trails, fog lights just don’t have the same coverage. Ditto for the rear backup lights in my high clearance bumper, they literally light up the night behind and make it much safer if having to back up, not to mention setting up camp at night. Probably one of the best additions on my truck, next to my sliders and beefed up skids.

As a lab dude that dabbles in chemistry here and there... that one always makes me laugh. More so when a coworker falls for it. Its almost as bad as bottled water.

Thats $6500 plus tax retail. If you’ve got a plug it can be had for alot less. ;)

    Nothing major yet.
The most useless mod is putting a carbon fiber hood on a 5000 lb + truck. Especially the Seibon hood that cost like $1500 for you to save max 20 lbs.

Which hood struts did you get? I thought they all used rivets.
