    well i constantly hear about how toyota should offer a diesel...but no one has ever said why

    i mean the 1st gen tacoma engines are some of the most reliable consumer vehicle motors on the planet

    The 5vz is if not one of the most, then the most bullet proof engine made.

    Diesel would offer greater fuel economy, even less maintenance (no spark plugs, doesn't burn as hot.) Mainly I look at it from an expeditionary stand point, less fuel to carry.
