You are lucky indeed. My company anounced 11,000 jobs cut this year. I'm one. Just think, only 10,999 more people to go!

There is no reason why someone can't live on 150k a year that makes more than that.

Imagine what would happen in the U.S. if everyone that made well over 6 figures a year took a (TEMPORARY) pay cut to 150k

My sister and brother in law have 6 kids and are making it on 60k a yr. No it is not easy and they don't have much but they are making it.

The company I used to work for always prided themself in no layoffs.......to this day they have not layed anyone off. As a matter of fact my buddy that worked there (15 years) didn't get laid off, he got fired. They went back in everyones work records 8 years:eek: and found any little thing they could to fire them. (about 3% of the shop people so far) What a wonderful community leader this company is. Ruin someones work record because the company is suffering. At least they can still say they have never laid anyone off!.....yet.....

Yes this is a Japanese company I speak of!

    sorry for the rant.....

Thanks. I'm still working, but my is closing at the end of 2009. I'll probably be OK, but you never know. I'll be 54 then trying to compete with a ton of younger people for not a lot of jobs. Well see how it plays out. I'm not too worried yet.

Let me know what ya'll think of it. The best Thera-Flu for nighttime is behind the counter. You have to take them the little meth making card.....:D

But the nightime out on the shelf is good too. I usually get a variety. I think its the cinnimon flavor that is the best too. There are a few different flavors. Lemon isn't the best flavor, but I usually don't care since it really helps me alot.

You and me both!!! Why should they take a pay cut when they can lay off a $50,000 a year worker so they can still afford their vacations and clothes, and fancy house and new car and anything else they want.

So sorry to hear that.... I have a contract job and almost expected to not get another one this past Dec. Only thing is, it only goes through Jun PLUS everyone has to take a 4 day furlough. There's no guarantee it will get renewed in Jun, so I could be in the same boat soon.

Rant away all you need to. Gotta wonder how some of these crummy CEO's got their jobs (and manage to keep them)... how many people did they stomp to get where they are today.

    She's gone but not forgotten.
I'd get me a 09 Tacoma DC with the off road package. Already got it picked and priced, little over 37K with the extra toys I want.

Then I'd use some of the rest of the money for some nice fat tires and a pressurized intake system!

    +1

It's amazing they are pretty much just giving the banks the $$$ free, yet when the auto makers wanted help, they put them through the ringer. Their feet should be put to the fire to help the "little guy" in this country instead of just adding to the lining of the pockets of the CEO's, managers, etc...
