A hard freeze warning means that temperatures less than
27 degrees are expected for at least 2 hours. These conditions
will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. In addition...
appropriate action should be taken to ensure outdoor pets and
exposed water pipes have adequate protection from the cold
temperatures. Young children... the elderly and the homeless are
especially vulnerable to the cold. Take measures to protect
    them.

Whereas a freeze warning just means it's gonna dip below 32, but not long enough to freeze the pipes around the well and kill all the plants and the park bench drifters downtown.

Thank you! He's a really happy dog! :)

I'm still SOL in the voice department--I will be conducting class via chat from home at 11 and at 12:05. :D Duncan is doing MUCH better. His incision is staying closed now, he isn't messing with it, his read third eyelids are only pink now, and his runny nose is clearing up. Gotta love antibiotics. Poor thing can't catch a break healthwise though. :(

I wish it were from that......:p We've got kids though remember--I gotta keep it down no matter what. Waking them up would just be bad, very, very bad. "Daddy? What are you doing to Mommy?"

Weird here too--lots of sun and very pretty sparkly snow falling at the same time. And cold as the above-mentioned witches bits....

Yup, moved to get away from Boston people and the weather. Now all the older (more practiced at being jerks) Boston people are down here for the winter clogging up our roads and stores, and they brought the winter with them. What makes it worse is they bring their yankee diseases with them and we have no resistance so we all get sick.

Born in the white north -- Folks moved to a different country when I was 6 months old -- folks moved to Texas when I was 7 -- stayed there until I was 19, then Georgia, then Alabama, then back to Texas, then to Korea, then to Arizona, and finally to Maryland...
