Why's it gotta be a black thing? Can't we all just get along?

I hear the WD blacks are pretty much the best working ones you can buy.

Id go with either WD Black or similar Seagate.

Right now my laptop has a 100gb 7200rpm 2.5" Seagate drive and I have a 500gb 7200rpm 3.5" Seagate external drive. And my old desktop is running a Seagate that used to be in an external enclosure that I used before I got the 500gb.

I've had the best luck with Seagate drives, but they were the best during the mid 2000's. Now it looks like the WD blacks outperform the Seagates.

the thing about apples that I dont like (besides the price and i dont really care for OSX...never used it much though) is the fact that you cant work on them.

I have a complete guide on how to take apart everything inside my thinkpad that was provided for free by lenovo.

You can work on them. There is a site ifixit.com with guides to take them apart and fix / replace most anything. I have replaced the HDD, power receptacle and superdrive on mine all at the kitchen table.

i thought apple highly frowned upon their users trying to fix stuff instead of them bringing it into an apple store and having a bill of atleast $100 to unplug something and plug a new one back in?

This place is awesome. We are still putting stuff away and decorating, but we really love it. The garage is a mess at the moment and has like 2 outlets, but I have plans. You guys will find something. The house for you is out there, just gotta hang tough.

I'm gonna break in the new neighbors tomorrow. Gonna fire up the grinder around 9:00 to start cutting off the old leaf springs.
