    I hate sending my kid off to school lately--none of his old friends are in his class. He never even sees them, and he's having a rough time of it. I was hoping he's have a better 6th grade year than I did. He used to love school. :( Makes me worry.

    Lab work, hope and pray everything works out or shows up OK.

    Went through the the same thing with our girls, it was hard for me to talk to them since "I am Dad" and not a girl thing. But Michele was able to work everything out with them. They are at the age now when they think of everything and I mean everything. Last night the oldest was worried about "fires", "heart transplants", and "automoblie wrecks". WAY out of my area of talk.
    Tough I know....guess the only thing to really do is make sure they know WE are their for them NO MATTER WHAT. Through the good and bad.

    Mine is having a rough time too. Friends are all in class next door. He's not liking his teacher much this year. It's hard on them but they are resilient. I'll push him through this school year hoping next year will be better. I remember having a year like that. Hated my 2nd grade teacher, she couldn't stand me the day I walked in. (I was a sweet kid :) ) HA

    Oddly, my bad year was also 6th grade. I think it's part of why I ended up a loner. Although I think thats part of my personality too. At any rate, it made me realize that, for good or ill, I was on my own and I could take it. I could survive just fine without following everybody else. I'm trying to let him know that I experienced more or less the same kind of thing and that it will all work out. I'm also trying to make sure that he knows that public school is a VERY small part of his life in the larger scheme of things. He seems okay with his teachers, its the kids that he is having trouble with. I don't hink he's wild about either of them (the teachers) but he says "they're okay." He's got two friends in class, but they were both sick yeaterday. Don't know about today yet.

    I realized this morning that he only has 6 more years of school--he's halfway through! How did that happen? Hpefully it gets better for yours and mine!
