    I have the same thing, get it about once a year. For a month or so I sleep about an hour each evening. I am tired but when I hit the bed, wide awake. Tried med's, funny stuff, and hit the Jack but no go. It finally runs it's course, when it gets bad I sleep walk with the eye's open. I call people, sit in the tub, look at pictures on the wall, and have no clue I am doing it. When my butt gets cold I realize I am outside on the porch, in just a muscle shirt playing with dog's that are not there.

    I'm screwed................

    I suffer from insomnia. All has to do w/ the railroad, and having no schedule. If I finally get to sleep, I sleep for 12+ hours.

    No it's ok to laugh, there is nothing like a neighbor tapping you on the shoulder asking you what's up, and need to keep it down a little.
    She never said anything about my man hood, but she does smile at me all the time :confused:

    Wow! I don't think he sleepwalks--thank goodness! He just can't get to sleep -- usually 4 or 5 in the morning when he does get in bed. He's tried everything too, meds, drinking, meds and drinking, maybe works for a week or so, but then it wears off real fast. Stress is a problem for him too, but I don't know how to fix that beyond what I already do (everything--house, bills, kids, working--NOT complaining AT ALL, just mentioning) I don't pick on him or nag him or make a big deal out of it either. I can't make him stop worrying though. :(

    There is a special name for it, thing is you are awake, and doing things from memory. Bad thing is part of the brain has shut down, so you have no recall of what you did.

    Wife did catch me in the tub with one of the sqeaker toys (when girls were smaller) guess I was having the time of my life playing with it. Some singing and making odd non-verbal noises. She just went and closed the door. Was afraid I would "freak" if she touched me.

    Well, the four-year-old is fully awake, so no more peace and quiet for me! Once he's up he NEVER stops talking. This would be why I resisited the speech therapist the pediatrician suggested when he wasn't talking much at three+. His older brother was like that, and I knew what was coming....lol!

    Doctors say it is harmless, that I come out of it. These are a couple of the funny ones, most cases it is looking at pic's or doing something odd like that.
    It is strange when you finally snap out of it and you are standing there looking at something, "oh well, need to find something else to do" is what I say.
    It's not all the time either, at least I don't think so. But it has been awhile since it has happened.
