Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I was riding my dirt bike about ten years ago with a few friends. We were on a mountain road that had a large amount of gravel on the surface. To this day all I can remember was shifting into third gear. After that it is a blur and then darkness. I don't know how I ate shit, but I did big time. Anyway, I flew threw the air (witness statements), did a few endos and landed face down. All of the damage was done to the right side of my body and the back side of my head. Somewhere in the endo's, my helmet flew off. (chinstraps are for function not decoration)

I got a nice ambulance ride to the hospital, some nice pictures, and a over-night room; night gown incuded. They kept asking me questions to check my coherency. Yeah, those guys are funny.

[IMG] "Do you know who the president is?"

    [IMG] "Uh..........Reagan ?"

I knew I was wrong judging by the look on his face.

[IMG] "No, it is Clinton" That's when the flashlight gets shined in my eyes, again.

    [IMG] "Clinton? ......Oh."

[IMG] "Do you know what day it is?"

    [IMG] "Sunday, I think?"

[IMG] "Yes, Good. Do you know what the date is?"

[IMG] "Uh, No.....I am not sure what year it is." I realized that after guessing Reagan was the president, every question after that was probably a lost cause.

The rest of the ride is still a blur. However, I do have a distinct memory of watching the ambulance drive down the highway.

Anyway, back to the rock. After I received my +30 staples and stitches, my overnight stay, and a visit from the most beautiful nurse I have ever seen, (Keep in mind it was late at night and I had a concussion. I can't remember if I asked her for a sponge bath or not:confused:.) I was released to a tearful mother, who kept reminding me of the dirt bike dangers in an "I told you so" manner. God bless you Mom.

I had places on my body that you realize really should be covered in skin. My nose was still crusty with dried blood. Apparently I did not ask for a sponge bath. My shoulders were raw. My muscles were sore. I felt like I was runover by a bus, or maybe a motorcycle of the dirt bike variety. Go figure.

After I cleaned myself up (No mother, I do not need your help), I still had trouble breathing out of my right nostril. I thought it was just still packed with dried blood. So naturally being a man's man, I went diggin' for gold. What, the bathroom door was closed!? Needless to say, I found a nugget about the size of a pencil eraser.

It took four weeks for the "hole" in my scalp to heal. I like going to different barbers just to watch the look on the faces when they find the "surprise".

    Good times, good times.

No, see above story. Not really sure how long I was out. But the rock was in for two days.

I watched my Machining instructor smash his finger in an automatic screw machine. Then he went and sat against the wall and assumed the fetal position. He turned white.

Geez 98! Glad you survived that! I can see why it would have taken two days to notice the rock issue. Yes, chinstraps are not just for decoration.

When you say that you have the distince memory of the ambulance, you mean as in watching it drive away from the scene with you in it from....another location? Wow.

Wow. Not surprising though considering the extent of the accident and your injuries.
