Ok yea thanks for the heads up, I was just reading that actually..I guess if the CAIs dont have a real significant performance boost without headers, y pipe etc, then I can just wait on that.

The sound from the exhaust should be enough to satisfy me for now I guess lol.

I keep on jumping back between the TRD and Magnaflow I've been looking online for sound clips and its so damn hard to decide.

^^^ What he said. They are equal on pretty much all accounts. Which can you get for cheaper. You will most likely be happy with either one so...

when i put my trd cai in i noticed when you slip tubes together you can accidently cover a hole that gets a vaccum tube on the rubber gromets that join tubes together. thats what trips eng light. imho my truck had a cai already because it was in the fender getting air scooped in already.if i had known i would have just got a drop in filter but im not sure about 09 truck.there's so many threads about this. read more about extra hole people put in stock air box and drop in filter.its 250 cheaper for same imo.if you screw up your stock air box i'll give you mine if it fits.good luck

If you look carefully it says its for the 4 cyl.

    "L4 2.7L"

Also, I would be cautious of buying from them. There is no phone number for contacting anywhere on that site, only a "CONTACT US" tab with e-mail only but it goes through there site, they provide absolutely no contact information at all. Sounds like a rip off job to me. You wont go wrong by going through any of the vendors on this site or any of the old standby places like 4WP, ORW, Desert Rat, Auto anything, etc. I would look at the vendors on here though, they are usually more than willing to cut a good deal.

No worries man. Hate to see people get ripped off, but at the same time I love to be the guy to help fix the problem when people do. I love being "THAT ASSHOLE" my friends go to to rectify problems. LoL

So just spoke to a local muffler shop and the guy said if I want a magnaflow, buying the whole catback is a waste of money b/c my 09 taco already has stock 2.5" piping. He said to just put on a Magnaflow muffler and get a tip and there will be no difference, and save around $200-$300.

Is this true? If my truck has 2.5" piping already will I gain anything extra buy spending double to get the full catback?

I believe that stock is 2.25", so the cost delta gets you 2.5" pipes. Whether that's enough to get you a difference,,,, unlikely it's anything you can feel or measure. "Maybe" 2, 3, 4 hp at the topend. I'd say go get a muffler cut in and move on.

Generally the one everyone recommends. Its what I have (just get the filter cover too) and works good. Its essentially the same as the old style TRD intake.

Damn decision making for cars make me nauseas. I had anxiety attacks when i was trying to decide how to lift my truck! I just ended up buying wheels n tires instead lol. It took me 2 hours to chose a modem n router today lmao.

Haha dude that's how I was trying to decide between a magnaflow catback vs muffler. I'm glad I saved the extra money and just got the 18 b/c it sounds great and now I can buy my cai with the extra cash!

It will probably take me a month to decide on what lift tho. Right now I'm thinking spindles for the front at least to start but I have no clue what I want to do in the back yet.
