Probably because its the best first mod to make your truck look a bit more aggressive. Probably see it again too. I may even post the same suggestion again later on in this thread.

Haha, thanks! And now I'm going to think "grandpa" when my truck gets dropped off late next week.

So if I were to get these tires that someone suggested, https://www.amazon.com/Falken-28034301-Wildpeak-Terrain-Radial/dp/B01C53COJ4 .... what would I do with my new tires that came on the truck, just store away or would they have resell value? What would you vets do. I do like the idea of at least starting with new tires, get Rekgen mud flaps, a topper of some sort, and steps/slider.

    This is FUN!

Haha, yeah not sure my obsession with Predator Steps, I think it was the Predator Package Army Green Tacoma I saw it looked so good. Any sliders would you recommend that would look good, I'm not going hardcore off-roading right now. Would be ditches, fields, mud, snow, etc.. I want my Tacoma to look bad, but will need to do it without lifting, at least for now. ;)

I liked the look of the predators too, then I saw a few people here mess them up by hitting rocks and tree stumps with them. For sliders I like the look of @Mobtown Offroad

Skip the OEM mudflaps. They'll fold or rip off. I have rekgens, which are basically the same as rokblokz but much cheaper. The only thing is that the rear mounting hardware is kinda janky, but it works.

Does that work with stock off-road rims? I was thinking it needed different offset rims, UCA, or some hammering/grinding to get next logical step 285/75R16 even with a lift. I guess my point was he can directly swap out to 265/75R16 tires without any other mods if simple/cheap/easy was the goal.

Yep I want simple and easy right now. So these tires would be a big upgrade from stock in both looks and performance? North Dakota has some long winters and nasty roads so this might be a well justified swap.

Yeah, I will go with the Rekgens for $100. Definitely skipping OEM on those.

You might be able to pull it off with a little finessing. It helps that the OR and Pro wheels are narrower. I definitely had to cut a lot and do a CMC for my 285/70/17s to not rub even with a lift.

The OR and Pro wheels are 16". with a +25mm positive offset 'I think" This will help some with it not rubbing.
    1. 16" smaller in diameter than the 17" 31.7" vs. 32.7" 285/70's
    2. The positive offset doesn't push the wheel/tire out as far when turn towards full lock.

Yeah those tires would be a really good option for you. Slightly larger helps ground clearance, but not so big it require other mods or parts. The forums have a lot of good info if you search, or check out that thread link too.

I have very similar Falken Wildpeak version in SL rating about 20k miles on an SUV and it's been great for wet/snow handling. Falken has a different compound in the E load tire, posts seem positive about that too I guess. Personally I am planning Wildpeak A/T3W 265/75R16 SL rated on my stock OR rims after a lot of research. I don't want the hit on extra rotating mass or possibly ride of E rating for what is mostly a daily driver.

Cool. I'm really interested in that same set. Looks like we have similar trucks too. What do you plan to do with your stock tires? I will do my own research but my truck will be delivered in 7-12 days and I may just swap tires out shortly after before winter hits. I see they are on Amazon, do you have a better site to purchase tires from?

Take a look under the Buy/Sell/Trade section for deals and coupons, lots of stuff going on right now. I will do 5 tires to have same spare, but not sure what I will do with the stock. Probably try to sell them.

16" wheels are a smaller diameter wheel but tire size is virtually identical. 285/75/16s are the same as 285/70/17s.

The main difference is my offset (34mm) and my wheels are I think, 8.5" wide so it was a lot more work.

Agree. on 70 vs. 75 series. I quoted 70's on both.

Do you plan to change your wheels too or just the tires?
    Wildpeaks in 265/75/16
I got a quote from a trusted local tire place $739 installed (includes tax). After looking at all the threads and pictures with these tires installed looks like a great upgrade from the stock tires.
