Placed my order 1/5/16, built 3/2/16. Should be at the dealer 3/18/16. 12 more days!

It likely is as there are likely none in that configuration in your region readily available. I know when I ordered mine I even checked inventory myself in the Southeast and was able to see that none existed. Had I settled for gray interior there were a couple but none with black. I settled on color with my second gen as I really wanted white but was able to get Silver right of way and with this one was making sure I got the exact truck I wanted. I was fine with waiting especially since I am leasing my current vehicle and still have until June until that lease is up. I figure the longer it takes just means less time I will have to carry three car payments. When he called I was excited and disappointed all at the same time. lol

 

I ordered my truck on Feb. 17th. Today marks 3 weeks, (not that I'm counting the days or anything... ) My truck is a Double Cab TRD Off Road Long Bed, Quicksand.

I got a phone call from the dealer on Monday March 7th just to let me know they haven't forgotten about me, no news from Toyota. The dealer is hoping to have some good news by the end of the week. If it takes the 8-10 weeks I'm going to have to wait until April 13-27. I sure hope it comes sooner than that! I'm going crazy!

 

Just heard from dealer got my vin and it is scheduled to be delivered from the railyard between march 10 and 14 to the dealer.anyone know what that means

 

Ask your dealer for the Dealer Daily summary. They can email you a picture.

This will have your VIN with all sorts of dates including

Rail Departure
Rail Arrival
Shipment to dealer
Dealer arrival
RailCar Location.

 

Yes the dealer told me if I wanted a 2WD and/or a tonneau cover they could get me one quicker. I really want 4X4 and no tonneau cover necessary..so here I wait.

 

Get the 4x4 with Tonneau, sell the Tonneau on here.

 

I only called twice. Once every 30 days. Then I emailed right at 90 days. My truck showed up a day later, and the salesman was a little surprised by it.

 

I'm buying the truck I bug them twice a week

 

Dealer emailed me today with VIN. Truck was built 2 days early. Expect it in a couple weeks. Yay!!!

 

I thought about that but it's installed and looked like it would be a pain to remove.

 

My waiting game is finally over. Just picked it up. Pictures don't do this truck any justice. I'm like OMG, it's so awesome.. I didn't want to park...

My wait is finally over! I will take some better photos when it isn't raining. The new truck is a 4x4 DCLB TRD OR w/ tow and P&T w/ JBL. Old truck next to it is my 1999 4x2 Prerunner TRD OR Xtracab that I traded in on the new one. I guess now all that I have left to do is spend the next several thousand mile microanalyzing every twitch of the transmission and listening for intermittent howls.

Dammit. Everyone getting their Tacoma today. My sales guy is off today, says he will call me tomorrow when I can pick mine up. DAMN HIM!!!!!

 

Lopez is right. its better to contact them. mine sat in rail/ port for a week or two. they pushed back my delivery a week as well.

 

Not only that, but they cut holes in the bed caps to install. Search this forum for pictures. It's a major mod imo, would require you to replace caps to get a normal looking bed. One guy on here said a dealership quoted him over 300 dollars for new bed caps.

 

Yessss, my truck has a build date of the 24th!
