So close! What was your temp Vin build week? Mine is 41. The number six from end. My build date is 10/22. The wait is killing me.

 

Well that would make me very happy! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

 

Have not heard December date for TRD Sport Access - my dealers is one of biggest in Gulf-States - plan to drop by today and check on my order - could be true - will ask and post what I find out

doubt if anyone (including the factories) actually knows when any vehicle will be produced - overwhelmed is an understatement when it comes to current mess - lack of production for demand is is so out of whac - who planned this roll out?
2016 Tacoma's that were announced early 2015 -- Most dealers had no 2014 Tacoma's to sell by mid July - = look up piss poor planning in dictionary and a picture of Toyota US Management is it.

Dealer told me it was 6 to 8 weeks - then 8 to 10 weeks - then 10 to 12 weeks - now four months?? Like I said earlier - by the time they catch up with 216 orders - it will be 2017 model - which will include no changes but the date. These post of when paced order and when get build date will let us know how far behind they really are - Toyota dealerships certainly do not know.

 

Just my take on it, Posted this somewhere earlier in the thread. Ordered mine on 9/18 got a build date 2 weeks later of Nov 10th.

 

On the temp they were 38. I had an original estimated build date of 9/26, and an actual build date of 10/5.

Drove by a dealer over the weekend who had a few 4x2's in so I was finally was able to see one in person, the only
DCSB Sport was a Super White 4x2 with the Tonneau cover and it was beautiful, much nicer than any pics I've seen. I actually
liked the new grill quite a bit. I'm hoping it looks just as good on mine (Black 4x4 DCSB Sport w/ Tonneau). I went back
and forth with the dealer not wanting the Mandatory bed cover but they couldn't get it removed, after seeing it though
I've changed my mind.

 

why do they say the tonneau cover mandatory? it's a $650 (MSRP) option. I am holding off on one for now, unless they accidentally give me one for free. I want a chance to compare Toyota vs. aftermarket before I commit to one.

 

I'm not sure if this has been covered yet, but, if I have a vin number can I determine approximately when my vehicle will be delivered to the dealer?

 

Toyota has come up with pre-determined percentages of what models they will make with what options. They have allotted very high percentages for the tonneau covers, hence why you "have" to get them sometimes. If you order a specific truck, Toyota has to accept your order. If your build date is way off, you can try dropping or adding some options and it may change the date.

No, you have to ask you dealer. So far thought, it seems to be a minimum of two weeks before everyone is getting a build date as of right now.

oh. I guess I got "lucky" then. although, since I am not getting one up front, it will almost certainly mean I eventually decide on the Toyota one.

 

SO I got an update from the dealer just now. My truck is set for a build date in early november and will be delivered by mid-december. This wait is killing me. Getting a 1.9% APR for 60 mo with 25k down...Can anyone else share the deal they are getting just so I can try to see if I should haggle them a bit more.

It's part of the package. I've never liked them nor did I want one but like I said, when
I saw it both me and my wife thought wow! this thing is really nice.

Nor could I get the JBL - packages and location determine many things that
I was not aware of, I've always just shopped around and bought the vehicle I
like, I've never ordered one much less a pre-order.

 

Mine was ordered end of August. Dealer tried to change Allocation Color but to no avail. Barcelona Red TRD Off Road Access Cab. Predator Steps, Tow Package, Bed Mat, Mud Guards, Door Sill All Weather floor Mats. It came in Black which is nice but not for me. Vin is assigned and Build Date is November 19th. Patient for sure. Final Price is $35,750 out the door. Costco Price

 

Should be any day (i hope)... Black 4x4 DCSB OR w/tonneau, Tech, JBL, and all the candy. Place holder Vin three weeks ago of ending 39B216 so it should be delivered this week or next. Cannot wait to get back into a Tacoma after 5 yrs lost in the forrest of GM/Jeep....

 

Finally got a build date today. December 16th. FUUUUUU!

I'm not in a hurry to purchase a new vehicle, but damn. I was told it's based on allocations and regions. Apparently If I wanted a DCSB Sport manual I could have it in less than a month.

DCSB TRD O/R Manual, Quicksand, NO tech package, NO tonneau cover. Apparently ordering without the tech package and tonneau makes it a longer wait.

Hopefully I'll have it around or shortly after Christmas.
