The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

I'll be getting it tomorrow! I ordered it April 8 and they had one coming in that a customer cancelled. It was supposed to be here April 23rd. Got lucky on the wait, but it just doesn't have the premium-tech pkg and I'm okay with that,

 

Got a call that my allocation DCSB OR arrived this morning. I will try to swing by tomorrow to start the purchasing process. Expedited my loan so I will hopefully have my truck for the weekend & a ride up to Sedona . Put my name on the list February 13th. Sold my 1998 PreRunner about a week ago and it's been weird not having a truck since.

 

Well the wait is over my TRD Off road long bed is here and just picked it up tonight!

I didn't "order" one but have been looking for a specific one - AC SR 4x4 2.7 convenience package any color but white - everything in stock has the utility package (rear seat delete and the gawd awful black front bumper) or is 4x2 (and white). Dealer sees one allocated to another dealer they've worked with before and due to be delivered May 3. So they are trying to reserve it. I started this process early last week. So we will see how it goes... I verbally agreed to the deal on Saturday and have been waiting for a confirmation this week that they will be able to get the specific truck we discussed or if they will need to look for another. So far no confirmation of anything... Keeping my fingers crossed.

 

noobie here. I'm getting mine sometime next week. SR5 double cab, fairly stripped down, only opted for the tow package.

Bought it before reading about all the disappointed 2016 owners. Hope I have a better experience.

 

And no sooner than I posted this I get a message from the dealer that the truck is already sold so they are searching for another...

 

Where are you at, and how far would you travel for your truck?

 

SW Ohio, I'd drive a few hours if I could get the right deal.

 

I rec putting some mileage limits into auto-trader or one of it's competitors and seeing if your own search does better than your local dealer. You probably already have. I was willing to travel 200 miles. My local dealer came through with a good deal, but getting 3 dealers involved in wanting my business worked for me, thogh one of the dealers I ended up eliminating because while competitive, they were trying too damn hard to get me into a trim line I didn't want so they could move an SR5 off their lot. I ended up having to order, TRDOR with Manual in the color I wanted was never going be on a lot in this area, but you might have different luck. Besides, with school finishing up in May, and working full time on top of that, waiting for what I wanted was the best thing, even if I have hated it.

Besides, you want to identify who the good Toyota dealers are, and the ones to avoid now, and not after you get your truck. Seeing who will actually compete for your business might help do that. Just my 2 cents.

 

Well ladies and gentleman. My wait is officially over. Ordered January 19th took delivery last night.

Its worth the wait man! I didn't get the tech package. Only thing I wish I had from the tech package was the color keyed rear bumper! This is my first new vehicle so I'm very impressed with it.

 

I will be off this thread in 2 days! The dealer just called that my truck just arrived at the dealer! I'll be picking it up this Saturday! DSCB OR 4x4 Silver Sky w/ Tech & Premium.

I really really really wanna go pick it up tonight, but I got some work stuff to get done... If I go tomorrow after work, then I have a feeling there won't be any mechanics present to check ATF / hit the zerks with grease / check u-bolts, etc...

 

Man i would of ran to the dealer right now if i got that news. Congrats!

7545 Quicksand DCSB 4x4 OR 6MT, i ordered 3/23, signed approval paperwork for the order on 4/12 and today they informed me i have a build date of 5/16.
