The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

Just found the exact truck I want. Within 90 miles. I wanted a few more months to save for a better down payment but I couldn't pass it up, I put down a deposit and I'll be picking it up on Friday!

 

I really don't know what else to do but I do believe your right three zero seven.

 

Try talking to another dealer they can see what's in the order pipeline for all the dealers. They can tell you if your current dealer has it on order or not.

 

If they give you a temp vin the last 6 digits will tell you the build date. Will look like xxAxxxx. the two digits before the A tell you the week of the year mine is 17 which is April 22-29 . Mine is being built tomorrow.

 

I'm so mad right now but that's what I'm going to do Chuckbob, If they just ordered that truck I mite cancel the order after I pay them a visit.

 

I called another dealership and the sales manager told me that the other dealership should have told me that on a special order there is a 4 to 5 month wait. He also looked everywhere else for what I was looking for and he found 30 trucks all sold/ being built.
And they didn't order it as soon as they should have.
He couldn't give me a vin# either because it hasn't been built.

 

These rims are an option you can add when ordering. I think they go for an additional $800

 

Also , the" A" means built in Texas , it will be a "B" if it is to be built in Mexico. I believe the numbers after the letter is the number of truck to be built that week .

 

Today was my Day ! Ordered Feb.23 . Delivered Apr. 26 . I picked her up today from Toyota of West Plains Mo. I can not say enough great things about the dealership . My sales guy Steve Sands was the greatest. I told him about Tacoma world and the problems with the low trans fluid etc. I thought he thought , I was nuts He did not . He arranged for me to be there for the PDI . They checked trans oil , greased the universals etc. , All while I watched. Trans was good ! I saw the trans fluid drip after it was up to temp and the joints needed grease . There were several techs working on my truck each seemed to have a special job to do.and all were enthused . I wish I could remember all the names of the guys as they were great . One said the greasing would be done from now on for these . One tech had bought a TDR OR of his own and loved it .
.So far I have none of the known problems I read about here . No hesitation while shifting etc. or vibrations ,YEAH !
I have bought 10 new vehicles in my time and I have never had a better experience that with Steve. Best to all waiting !

 

Any one have a estimate on the amount of days it takes to ship from mexico to indiana?

 

Mine got here today. Signed all the papers tonight, they will prep it tomorrow, pick it up on Friday.

 

Mine is supposedly on the assembly line right now so hopefully my wait will be over in the next ten days.

 

luck for you guys, im only one week in and it feels like forever haha. I think mine will be a 2017 model year by the time it is build and delivered?

 

Now that the cat is out of the bag I can finally reply to this thread I have watched since early August: After 261 days since placing my order I finally picked up my new Tacoma last week!



Already have 2,650 miles on it after just a week. Waiting 8 months SUCKED. I wonder if anyone has waited longer? One things for sure, I'm love'n this truck! Looking forward to many years of Rock Crawling ahead

I'm not sure if I should be more impressed with the length of time you waited or the number of miles you've already accrued, but NICE. Congrats man.

 

I ordered my BBP TRD Sport DCLB on 4/20 and was given a build date of 4/25. I contacted the dealer on 4/27 and he said is was built and preparing for shipment. Anyone have any good guesses on how long it will take to get from Baja to Oregon? I have been looking/waiting for this truck since January so pretty anxious to finally get it!

 

Did you get a vin #? go back a couple pages, there was a guy offering to check status.

Had similar problems getting a manual access cab. After months of looking and being lied to by dealers that they could get one, I finally got a local dealer to change specs on an order he already had in back in March. The truck is being built today so should have in about 10 days. BBP access cab sport manual. You seem to hate the grill. do you like the one that will be on the 2017 trd pro?
