The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

My order went in mid-January, and I drove her home this afternoon, about 1 hour after she arrived on the truck. All I could think is that this site is a bunch of crybabies. I don't really see how it could be more perfect. I've been installing the pile of accessories that I've accumulated over the last 4 months, and I'll get my snugtop installed on Tuesday. In short, it's well worth the wait.

 

Waiting game is over, Built 4-28, shipped 4-29, arrived at the dealer 5-4 and I drove it home Thursday. Everything pretty much as I ordered except they installed a damn tonneau cover, useless to me as I carry a 21 foot long surf ski. I was with the dealer as he specifically placed my order without the tonneau cover. At least he gave me a break on the cost of it.

So far I like the truck but when people ask me about getting one I tell them you're gonna wait a long time, you're gonna spend more than you want to and you're not gonna get exactly what you order. Toyota really needs to be more transparent about the whole ordering process and to learn how to make happy customers.

Any forum members have success removing the pins that the tonneau cover latches to?

Still stuck in Chicago day 6..........They added two more days to delivery to dealer.

 

It looks like mine is finally in Portland at the UP rail yard today. It is supposed to deliver to the dealer tomorrow! Whoo-hoo

LOL i was waiting for the new ridgeline but I bought my first Toy instead so glad I made the right choice I hate the look of the Ridgeline! Though i do love the rear seat usability and the in bed storage kinda innovative.

 

Just got the call from the dealership. My truck will be ready to pick up this Thursday!! But I can't get it till Saturday because of work . This is going to be a long work week!

 

Interesting. I ordered EXACTLY what I wanted. Waited 1 month. Was happy with what I paid, and got exactly what I ordered.

 

I ordered mine on 04/27/16. Local dealer said expect 8-10 weeks. DCLB TRDOR Tech package. Sold my 1998 Dodge 24v 5spd diesel and a truck camper this past Saturday. For the first time in 25 years I am 'truckless'.

That is not a great feeling.

Ordered my DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 on April 18th, build date of 5/26, est. delivery date of 6/9. Shout out to DJsamthrax for the info

Mine is finally in town after spending more than a week in Chicago. Will try ti pick it up Tonight after work. Gonna be a long day. Hope it's worth it. Saw the build sheet looks like they got it build exactly as ordered. Will post pics after I get her. Nothing special just a Access cab Sport in blue.

 

LOL thanks for showing us that the truck looks kind of naked without running boards or steps. I never thought so till I saw you post. Now I have to rethink accessories.

 

Same boat mine is there today but have a doc appointment after work so may not get mine till sat either.

 

I put the order in on Apr 27/2016 for my first pick up truck, Tacoma inferno DCSB 6 spd m/t sport due to arrive next week if no glitches and pick up May 21st. Got my VIN yesterday set up my insurance. I've been without a vehicle since April 15th looking forward to my new wheels

 

Long Day but I was able to pic mine up last night. Didn't want to try to do it on Fri 13th. Pics to follow it's been raining ever since I got it. Wait time was about a month and a half but that was using a dealer allocation that was only a month out of production. Now Hookem has me rethinking accessories as mine looks a tad naked.
Total was $100 under invoice. Best part I got out of the dealership in less than two hours. that's a record!

 

Congrats! I received a notice that mine is in dealer 'A' status and it is scheduled to be built. Don't know what all that means but I guess I will find out soon enough, lol.

 

Dealer allocated staus means Toyota accepted order and it is in the production Qeuee. You should be able to get the temporary vin from the dealer. They can check the staus on the temporary vin with a program called the dealer daily. There will be a letter in the last 6 digits of the temp vin. the two numbers before the letter tell you the week of the year it is scheduled to be built.

 

Just talked to my sales guy- said looks like build date is first week of June.
