Placed an order on 4/18. Built on 5/19. Hopefully I see it next week?

My build date was originally 5/19, then 5/23 and now 5/25. Anyone else have this happen?

 

Do you know if it was being built in San Antonio or Baja? San Antonio was shut down on 5/18 and 19 due to storm damage. I understand it re-opened on the 20th. That may explain the delay...

Mine was scheduled for the 18th and have a message into the dealer trying to find out if it has been built but no response yet.

 

That was quick! Maybe there is hope that mine will be in sooner than expected, lol..

 

I asked and the sales guy I'm working with didn't know which plant it was coming out of until he gets confirmation that the truck is built. Whether this is true or not, i'm not sure.

 

Mine said the same thing earlier today, but based on what others are saying, you're given the temp vin # when Toyota accepts your order and gives you a build date. At that point you can figure the rest of the dates out, but there's always potential for shifting.

 

^this is correct. If you're getting the run around then more than likely the order has not been accepted

 

So mine was originally scheduled to build on 5/19. I just got response from dealer confirming it was built yesterday (5/24). Got pushed back a few days with the problems in San Antonio. Now to give it about 2 weeks to get to Ohio....

 

Ordered today. Build date is 6/13. This will my 4th Tacoma.

 

Which dealer took the order? Good price ?

I had a truck on order with them until I found out what I would save out of state.

I think I remember reading somewhere in this thread that there are forum posters who are able to look up dates for trucks that are in the system. I'm not asking for anyone to put themselves on blast for everyone to abuse, but I'm curious if my dealer isn't giving me the run-around as they claim my build date is 6/3, but that they won't have a temp VIN until the truck hits "freight" status. Could someone PM me and I provide you with my info in order to see what the temp VIN would be, if there even is a temp VIN in the system, along with any dates that could be viewed?

 

If they gave the accepted order from Toyota the order will have the estimated build date on it. The build date is just an estimate. Mine was built a day early. I would just check back with your dealer and see if they can provide this info to you. I can attach the file from mine if you want to see what it looks like.

 

They should be able to provide me with a build sheet if the order has been accepted, no? That would have the temp VIN on it if I'm not mistaken.
