I was originally told it could be 12 weeks for it to come in. It's already over 4 weeks and not a peep on a build date. I'm fine with waiting as long as it gets here before the snow.

Welcome to the world of leaving the "Joneses" behind....Being from the NE, BMWs MBS,LExus,Audis are a right of passage. Cars with little moe use than to impress....Once you go truck it's really hard to buy another sedan...whcih is why I had an 08 Vette and sold it for a 12 Miata. We don;t even have a Lexus or Audi within 120 miles. The status symbol in the south are full size maxed out lifted Mud trucks and coal rollers (who don't get caught)

I am excited for my new tacoma. I miss having a car with utility. I used to have a 1999 Subaru Outback. Now that I am older I decided to get back to a car with some utility. My fiance and I plan on buying ourselves a jet ski for our wedding.

Your definitely correct that having a AWD BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc is almost a right of passage in the northeast. The problem with them is the low profile tires on the roads that get torn up all winter and not repaired until the fall. I have spent well more than $3k on tires since getting my S4 in April 2012. My tire issues will be solved with a truck.

Placed my order July 31st w/ a $500 deposit, build date was mid Aug. Still waiting on
a delivery date - actually trying to find that out today!

Black color keyed TRD 4x4 Sport w/ Premium & Technology Package which included moon-roof & Tow.
Cloth interior, which I believe is the cement color.

Tonneau comes as a standard with my package so we're trying to get that removed, I'd never
ever use it, I don't care for a covered bed but I may end up with it, if so it goes up for sale ASAP.

Get this....Dealer just emailed me. We have our first one in! It's an access cab and you can come and check it
out and test drive if you want to.....Replies back to my reply of "no thanks" 20 min. later with.... Nevermind, it
just sold, the guys is with finance now doing the paperwork!

Just an FYI - the resale of the tonneau may be difficult. The mounting system requires cutting the top caps. Once removed, the caps will have three large cutouts on the inside edges. This will also make it potentially difficult for the buyer to install vs the various aftermarket tonneaus available. If you don't need it I would do everything possible to not get it prior to delivery.

Decided I wanted a new Tacoma last week Tuesday, started calling local dealerships on Wednesday morning. Sign and drove Wednesday night 2016 TRD Sport DC in quicksand. One of the only positive things about living in Arizona during the summer. Mexican factory just across the border. :bananadance::bananadead:

My Black TRD Sport DCSB 4x4 with Tonneau, Roof Rack, Mudflaps was built on 9/21, shipped 9/24 from San Diego. Hopefully only 1-2 weeks out from delivery to the dealer.

    Stock... For now...
Ordered my very first Tacoma on 9/23. Super white TRD OR DCSB M/T 4x4 with v6 tow package. No build date given yet. Dealer told me it could take up to 4 months. I have wanted one for 10 years! The suspense is killing me!

I put deposit down 9/18 on DCSB TRD OR M/T in Quicksand. Prem/tech and tow.
They said 6-8 weeks. Then got a call a few days later and said they were able to allocate one going into production to me. Not sure 100% what that means. Seemed like a fairly unusual build.
But they said I would have VIN 17 days later and delivery 8-12 days after that. Pretty stoked.
Living in coastal Houston may speed delivery some I'm sure. I will be in the Texas Hill Country the very next weekend, trying not to beat the shite out of my new truck...

That's what I was originally offered at a dealership in Henderson NV. The OR version, that is. They brought out the spec sheet and were going to pull it out of the pipe line to direct it there. But I wanted the Premium JBL Tech package. So now I wait.

Ordered mine August 12: Blazing Blue Pearl 4x4 TRD Sport Premium Package (sunroof, etc), DCSB, 6MT.

It's already arrived in the area, but being in Canada we still don't have a release date from Toyota, so I'm stuck waiting to actually pick it up. Hopefully by mid-October! I've been driving a 1991 VW Jetta Turbo Diesel for the last 1.5 years and I can't wait to have something nice, with cup holders!
