How long did the dealership say it would take to get it? I can't find one local equipped the way I want it.

90 days. It's very common to do with the Tacoma. Usually it requires a deposit and every instance I am aware of at the dealership I work at the customer has paid MSRP. It's not that bad because the market price around here is only $400-$500 below MSRP. Not much to ask for a built-to-spec truck.

I put a non-refundable deposit down, and paid $500 under MSRP for my truck. The whole deal took a little less than 2 months. I would have paid MSRP if they insisted.

That website only shows trucks that are coming specifically to a certain zip code. If you change the zip code, you'll see a completely different set of colors available. You're much better off ordering one from your local dealer.

My local dealer took my order by phone on 12/30..said he would know by Monday if they accepted the order. Told me I'd probably have to pay MSRP. Said he would call me back and we'll finalize price and details once they know if the order was accepted.

I've bought a couple cars from this dealer before and went through Costco..never paid more than a couple hundred over invoice. Not sure I want to pay full price! I thought I had played the waiting game long enough!?

Does anybody know when the prices will come down!?

Looking for a silver double cab 4X4 Sport SB AT, with tech/premium and JBL and TRD wheel package.

    None needed.
I was at that dealership yesterday. They have about 20 Tacoma's in every color available including a TRD DC OR 6mt in quicksand. Supposedly they sale more Tacoma's and Tundra's than any dealer East of the Mississippi and I believe it, they move a lot of trucks.

Why would someone be happy to pay full price? I almost did it reluctantly... Such a scam. Love these trucks... But excited to pay full tilt...no thanks!! Shop, shop, shop!!!

No disrespect but after my fiasco we should all be getting a deal for something we all are willing to pay top dollar for.

Initially, I wanted the Access Cab 6-sp Manual Off-road. I made a deposit at a local dealer back in October under the assumption they would order one. Only to be delayed over and over while they try to sell me something else. Then I learned that if one was actually order for build, I would get a build-sheet. I wish they could just been straight-up with me. It would been easy money - burning a hole in my bank account ready to be spent.

I got my deposit back and started over with another dealer. After realizing it could be mean waiting until March or later for Access Cab manual trans, I decided to go with the Dbl Cab, LB, Auto after seeing how great the DCLB looked with lift and tires. It's been 25 yrs since I drove an automatic. But I had wished for one whenever dealing with traffic. So I'm ready to switch over. I don't like it, I can trade-in later when the manual becomes available.

Don't know why here in NV and even CA, Access Cab Off-road impossible to find.
Never even seen a manual Off-Road mentioned anywhere. Sick of waiting and bs. I will pay MSRP to get the truck now. If my Xterra dies on me (210k mi, high-pitch sound due to loose timing chain, deer damage, need tires, needs brakes, ect ect), dealing with that would cost me more than the difference. I need a Tacoma NOW.

Build date - Jan 7, 2016. Estimated delivery by end of month. Everything was done with a 5-minute phone call, an email thread with a deposit authorization. I wish all dealers were like this. Give me a commitment - a spec sheet, a VIN, a build date, and I will give you my commitment.

    Some of the immediate upgrades:

The bed will be turned into a penthouse with protection from a SnugTop campershell. Comfort to be provided by double layers of 2" memory-foam mattress topper. Extra battery will power blue and red LED strips for mood enhancement. It will also power a 24" LED monitor to satisfy my work responsibilities while on the road. Portable solar panel in the future.

Still researching lift and tire options. My inclination is 3" lift, 285/75-16 on stock rims. If new rims are required to avoid rubbing, maybe go for 17" and taller lift too. I'm concerned about the VSC warning light issue with bigger lift. Any advice is great appreciated. Will also need a spare tire solution. I want to carry a kayak so maybe a swing-out tailgate solution for the spare. To be decided.

    Happy Birthday to me:

Mine finally arrived at the dealer on 12/31 :bananadance:

It'll be another 2 weeks before I receive it as I'm out west now and have to have the paperwork overnighted then shipped next week. Had my salesman snap a few pics for proof. :D

Stopped at my local dealer yesterday, with this beast on their lot - the one I want down to the option (other than tube steps). They weren't willing to play ball at all - they told me that someone is gonna come in and pay a lot of money for that truck soon enough, and weren't willing to discount. And I had a mint condition 2012 DCLB, with 48k miles, that I was willing to trade. When they knew I wasn't gonna pay sticker on the new rig, they didn't even bother to price my potential trade. Would have been my 4th Tacoma - like someone said earlier, short term greed vs. fostering long-term relationships - they would have made a lot of $ on my trade and I was there and willing. Never seen a dealership so indifferent about trying to get a sale, especially with a vehicle right on their lot.IMG_4148-1.jpg
