I am now officially playing the waiting game. Got my name on a MGM Sport that goes to production on 1/9. Estimated delivery 2/4. We'll see if it actually makes that delivery time.

Chris stopped doing it a few months ago,it was turning into a full time job for him.;)

Just call and bug your dealer, that's what they get paid for. Mine was the same, every time I called it was like a big chore for him to look it up. Knowing this I called even more, even started calling the manager for updates who wasn't happy with my salesman as now he was being bothered...lol

Yeah, that does seem a bit weird, has your dealer said whether it is ready to ship to you or not? Mine took a few weeks to travel from San Antonio to the port here in Portland, then a few more days to get to to dealer (dumb weather) I'm sure you'll get it soon! I absolutely LOVE mine.

Original arrival date was by Christmas, then by New Years, then Jan. 2-7. Called and went by the dealer on my way home last night (luckily it's on the way) and he said it shows Jan. 6-9 estimated arrival. Dealer gave me a free rental until the truck shows up. Sadly it's a prius. What a sad little thing to drive. Just awful.
Story I've gotten from my sales manager, who has been very good along the way, is that Toyota has had a lot of shipping issues and delays on the part of the shipping company. Also they've obviously had trouble keeping production up to speed with demand as we've all seen. I'm at least going to see if they'll hook me up with a discount or credit for accessories for the wait - saw that others on here had success with that...

Couple hours after posting the above, my sales manager texted & called to let me know it had come in this morning!

    Summary:
    11/3 ordered
11/13 added P&T pkg, signed purchase agreement
    12/15 built
    1/8 delivered

I inquired about any incentives they would offer me for the delay - dealer is giving me my choice of $100 accessories for free. Might have the front bed rail put on, or discounted bed extender, who knows. have a little thinking to do...
Will post pics at some point soon when the weather gets better, at least in the BBP thread. Good luck to the rest who are waiting!

Been waiting for a month , looks like it should be finished the end of this month! This is the most work I have ever had to do to get a car and the longest wait. I bought a 2002 Subaru WRX, the first year they were in the states and that car was easier to get than this freaking truck!

Thanks! BBP is oh so good in person. Had only seen one other in blue before getting mine... what a color.
Dealer gave me a free bed mat for the delay which was nice. Jon F. At Koons Tysons Corner in N. VA if anyone nearby wants a good guy to work with. They also have ~6 or 7 2016s on the lot as of last night... various models.
Can't wait to get into the projects now... Good luck again to everyone

Congrats! I picked mine up at Koons Westminster Toyota (even though my family lives a mile from Koons Tysons Toyota). They had the exact truck I wanted (well, ideally it would have been a TRD OR 4x4 AC MT BBP, but those aren't a real thing in America unfortunately). Lucked out, found the TRD Sport AC 4x4 BBP MT with Premium & Technology near my parents house during off-season (the high rockies only have 2 seasons, and the short time between them is the time to escape to lower elevation). Then I drove it back home, and my truck thanked me for rescuing it from suburban hell!

so i am starting to get a little fed up with my dealership. i ordered it 11/29 they said they should have it beginning of Jan then they said end of Jan i called to haggle them yesterday and they said they still dont have a vin or a build date. I called another dealership and they said their computer shows one sold coming in 2/24 and 3/8 but nothing to our area in Jan, so being a frustrated consumer i called my dealership back saying WTF are you even gonna get anywhere close and he said that when a dealership orders on it does not show up on other dealers computers so people wont keep calling about it. So am I being fed a load of shit? Or should i believe them that mine will still show up but the end of Jan if they dont even have a VIN yet???

I was told this by another dealer when I was having the same trouble you are. He was trying to locate my temp VIN for me and couldn't find it and I was freaking out thinking it wasn't even ordered yet. He said there's a way for a dealer to "hide" the vin so other dealers can't see it. There was a delay at the MX plant a while back, mine was delayed 3 weeks from the scheduled build date. My dealer nor Toyota corporate would confirm and backorders or problems there so who know's what caused it. This is my first Toyota after buying Fords for over 20+ years and I really don't care for their ordering process. Waiting for an allocation in your area and not being able to order exactly what you want in 2016 is ridiculous. I read where some area there's such a small percent of LBDC with a MT and you're supposed to feel fortunate if you get one then wait 4-5 months!

Gottcha, i feel like if the dealer hid the vin they would still be able to get a date when the order is accepted. I just dont wanna be blind sided when its like oh we now have a vin and its March when i have done some looking around and found a few within a few hundred miles of me that i could drive to. I just feel like they threw out a guess date and they have nothing to back it up and they are holding the title to my trade in as my deposit. It just seems like they havent done anything since they took my order i dont wanna get blown off since they have my title i want them to just be straight with me. I just dont know how realistic end of Jan is without a vin when other dealers are showing them coming in in feb and march with a vin attached

Put an order for a "no frills edition 4x4" (access cab, 4 cylinder, 4wd, utility package) on Dec 18. Got word yesterday that a build date is scheduled for Feb 6. Dealer estimates they should likely see it near the end of February. I didn't specify color - requested not black or inferno. Looks like it will be white. Pretty much this exact truck.
