2016 TRD Off Road 6 speed Manual
status update so i ordered a trd OR SB 6 speed manual on 11/30 dealership said they should have it end of january. after constantly asking for updates the dealership was never able to tell me anything i got fed up waiting to i stared shopping around and i tracked down a dealership that has one coming in 1/25 that wasnt sold yet and they offered me 1400 more for my trade plus a lifetime powertrain warranty so i swooped on it and got it secured for me. when i went back to the dealership to get my deposit on my order back i ask them for a no shit assesment on my order and he finally gave me a straight answer he said that he "heard" they were getting an allocation for my model code on the 15th but even if they get it it will still be at least another month before build and delivery so in other words their estimate on end of jan was a total shot in the dark and they had nothing to back it up and not even a clue IF they were gonna get the allocation for it by 1/15 so for all those looking for a 6 speed good luck i ordered on 11/30 and by 1/13 they still had no allocation build date or delivery looks like a good 3-4 month wait for one... but i got a better deal and tracked one down with only a 2 week wait so there are a few out there. I did have to go with white instead of grey but such is life the white is still good lookin cant wait to take delivery its been a long road to track down a manual

So order date 10/17/15 ,build date 12/16/15 was "guaranteed a 1/5/16-1/12/16 delivery date....so I gave them a couple days leeway before I called and asked where the fuck my truck was....So I called today and got " Toyota is way behind on there deliveries, we really have no idea when your truck might be here"....are you freaking kidding me...then stop blowing smoke up my ass with a date!!!!!!!!!

Mine was built in MX too and shipped to Ma. It took a little over 3 weeks as they have to stop all across the country to unload the rail cars at different ports.

Ask your dealer to run a Dealer Daily report which will tell you the build date. You can also tell by your Temp. VIN # which week it should be built. In the last 6 numbers, the 2 numbers before the letter will be the build week. Mine was 3TMCZ5AN0GM45A429 which was supposed to be built during the 45th week of 2015. I say supposed to be built because it was delayed 3 weeks but it will give you an idea of your build week.

4th week which is very close to the date of 1/29 I was given. Roughly 2 weeks to go, then 2-4 more before delivery date. Interesting info. Thanx man. Still wondering where it's getting built.

heres my build update! I was supposed to fly to Montana tomorrow to pick up my truck, after waiting [17] weeks. Its been delayed one more week in transit, so that will make it an offficial 4 month wait. How can a company that builds one of the best trucks in the world, have such a [FUCKED UP] delivery system?????????

According to info elsewhere on the forum, if the VIN starts with a 3, it's being built in Mexico. If the VIN starts with a 5, it's being built in the US.

Look at your VIN # the first number will tell you where it's being built.

The ones we have been getting in from Mexico have been around 2 1/2 weeks. Should see it by the end of the month, forgot to check in today and see if it shipped. They go to Kansas City and swap trains then to Selkirk NY where it gets on a truck from what Ive been told.

I worked in mfg a long time, not auto mfg, but what I can tell you is this. You run the same product including body, trans, pkg, color for a extended period, then you go to another configuration. It allows the mfg to run more efficiently, thus less down time. Its possible with yours it could be a component issue from their supplier causing the delay. I can assure you Toyota wants built, their loosing money if it's not built & shipped. Too many people are, wanting a16.
