My order went in just after Christmas. Dealer said last week they weren;t due to get any allocations until 1/31. Some have mentioned they come out bi-monthly. Also 1/31 is a Sunday. Does this sound right? I'm in Rochester NY area.

I am with you on this frame of mind. The dealer will always want to sell you what is on their lot. Unless it is damn near almost spot on to what I want I will either make them do a locate or a build. If they don't want to make a deal, no sweat off my back. There will be a dealer some where willing to get you what you want for what you want to pay for it providing your being reasonable with the pricing. Just because they don't have it doesn't mean you need to settle.

I am pretty surprised at all these reports of people having long waits for DCSB OR 4x4 models. When I do a search on Cars.com for the TRD OR 4x4 DC, there are 474 that show up, and maybe 1-2% are LB, everything else is a SB. If I were looking for a DCSB, I would be searching Cars.com and finding the vehicle I wanted, then trying to get my local dealer to trade with them, or go to the other dealer for the sale if I could work a good deal.

Hey guys, I joined the waiting game for my first taco a week ago :D I will be upgrading from an '04 frontier 2wd 4 banger. I decided on, I hope I get this acronym correct, MGMTRDORDCLB4X4FTMFW :) She's a couple months out, looking like late March to early April. Found this awesome forum a couple days ago and wanted to say hi. I can't freaking wait for my new truck!

I finally got a build date today. Ordered 12/16/15, build date of 3/8/16. But my dealer is telling me that I couldn't get the inferno exterior with the black/orange interior... ARGH!!

After doing some research, I determined that I can get a little more for my money if I invested in the Off Road as opposed to the Sport (which had a TBD build date). I reached out to the folks at Mountain States Toyota and expressed my wish to change my allocation request to an Off Road model. As it turns out, they had one incoming already for the end of Feb, so I got incredibly lucky and stamped my name on that one. Now it looks like I'll have a TRD OR 4x4 DCLB w/tech and JBL in Barcelona Red. To top it off, I'll be getting it several weeks sooner that I would have the Sport model.

Shame on me for jumping ship to the OR model? Maybe, but I think it'll be worth it.

I have to say it was worth the wait. I have always wanted a Tacoma and I saved for two years for the down payment while waiting for the 2016 models and when I saw the new off-road in quicksand I had to have it. Ordered it with prem/tech and JBL
With tow pkg. and I'm stoked to finally have it..!!

My silver unicorn finally came in!!

10/17/2015 Ordered truck, with 1k down. Told 6-8 weeks... I smelled bs from the start.
12/04/2015 dealership finally was able to snag an allocation for my model (7566). Told build first week of January, delivery February 9th. Then updated to February 5th. Then last week told this Thursday.
01/25/2016 Got a call in the morning saying it was in!! Picked it up that night!

I can finally say I am a Tacoma owner and peace out to this support group!! Good luck with your wait, may it be better than mine! Now to move to the first impressions group...

Oh, btw, SSMTRDSPORTDCLB4X4 Prem Tech w/JBL
