They should be trying to allocate one for you. Watching for one to show up is good (it's how I got slotted a month earlier than before), but they should be proactive in the process as well.

You have a valid point. I was told today the plant production will be slowing down ,due to a steel shortage in Japan. The vendors who supply parts to Toyota are the ones having this issue.

So they should be on the look out for any in the market. My truck is nothing special or out of the ordinary.

Sorry julio. Feeling bad for all of us who are waiting, mostly for those experiencing these huge delays and dealer frustration. Hang in there folks.

At what point do you give up and just get the 2017? If we are talking about summer might as well wait for the next year. Seems like they will never catch up at this rate.

You might then risk being in the same boat that left port a year later. Depending on what your asking for and the region you're looking in, things might not improve much.

Why would you think they would want to catch up? So they could discount them? If they slow down production it will be only to keep the trucks at msrp. Their already running 2 plants with added employees and running an extra day. They can't even keep factory floor mats in stock.

Really? Don't you see them throwing a diesel in the Tundra before the Taco? Just seems like they always start there first...interesting...GM has a diesel in their mid-size, correct?

Yes , driven by consumer input and completion. They produce it in other countries , nothing new.

I have to disagree. Why are others getting this package. You may be like me and don't believe them 100%. You can call the assembly plant. Your dealer has a temp vin number for tracking purposes. Get that and get the info from the factory.

They said they don't have a temp vin...I asked. They told me they had a truck allocated to them and tried to add the FP and it was rejected by Toyota twice

I guess that's a good way to look at it. I would settle for the order being accepted at this point
