Dealer left me VM and I have a build date of March 16. I talked to them the other day and mentioned possibly pursuing internet sales, and voila... build date a few days later. Not sure if it's coincidence or not. Hopefully I primed them for a deal of some sort. I'd be happy with $1k below MSRP in the end, but anything better than that would be gravy.

Quicksand DCORLB w P&T (no jbl). Predator steps, mud flaps, all weather. They are throwing in the factory tonneau cover, which I didn't really want. Was thinking more along lines of Pace-Edwards, Roll n lock, or something similar. Maybe the factory tri fold will surprise me.

I'm telling you right now that $1000 below invoice is possible as long as you play hardball. I got mine at $911 below invoice.

This is for a truck that is being purchased in Mexico.
So i put a deposit down for mine in November of last year and apparently it was going to arrive by the end of january. Its a 4x4 trd sport. Just got a call from my dealer in Monterrey Mexico that toyota of Mexico talked to them yesterday and told them out of the 15 trucks they were getting they are only getting 6 of them for the rest of the year and they have a 30 person wait list. They are sorting out who will get those 6 trucks and i might be out of purchasing a tacoma. He said that in the US every state gets around 500 trucks or so and in the whole of Mexico they are only sending 500 which all of them are sold and people are being stuck left without a truck since there is such a strong demand for them. I put 2k as a deposit and i might have to pick it up if they call me later saying i did not make those 6 trucks. Same story with every dealer in Mexico they are sold out completely. Stop buying tacomas in the US so i can get mine lol.

Update, just got a call. Im stuck without a tacoma because toyota cant deliver enough trucks. My eta has changed to November of this year and im buying an Amarok Tdi.

Wow. $1000 below invoice? That would be sick. I was thinking below MSRP.

Maybe someone can help me here cause I am not sure my dealer (Dealer #1) is lying to me about allocation. They printed me out a spec sheet of a Gen 3 schedule to be build middle of Feb and told me they couldn't get it for some reason and I would have to wait until they can find me one. Well, I checked another dealer (Dealer #2) in the area who prints out the exact same spec sheet (with matching temp vins) and exact same build date and he guaranteed he could get this vehicle for me. I called Dealer #1 back and told him that a competing dealer said they could get me the exact same truck. Dealer #1 replied it could not be true as it was already allocated to another dealer, and that I would have to wait. I am not pursing buying from Dealer #2 due to price. I am just wondering if Dealer #1 is yanking my chain? Are they waiting til the vehicle is built, hoping to trade allocations with another dealer?

Maybe the second guy has a working relationship with the dealer that has the allocation

Dealer called me back and said he wrote the wrong color code down when they put the order in. Barcelona Red instead of Quicksand. Now I'm waiting to hear back if they can change the color, since I have a build date of March 16th.

Ordered a QSLB OR with only a towing package added on 28 Dec. If delivery is by 20 Feb it's just about 7 weeks total. I have also have five local Toyota dealerships to choose from in a 25 mile radius though.

Put order in 1st week of December. My dealer sends to Toyota on the 1st and 15th so mine went in the 15th. I received a tentative build date of 1/26 on 12/21. On 1/27 dealer said my truck was built and on a rail car in IL to be trucked to Ohio. It showed up today at the dealer, should be able to pick it up tomorrow. It is a black 4x4 off road DCSB JBL and tow.
