Hello Folks. So what is the average wait time on these? I have my dealer working with other dealers to trade for a truck they have. Unfortunately it's a b*tch to get the other dealer to give the truck up. My dealer is a friend of mine and he's got a quicksand sr5 with NO options. Also has a trd sport with the premium package and manual but it's white and I can't stand white or black cars. Just my thing. I'm due to move to the frozen north in Jun and also going cross country, some 6000 miles to Alaska. I want the truck and ordering is sounds hit or miss on time.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee. My dealer showed they had one exactly like I wanted scheduled to be built. We just had to change the color from white to Inferno. Looking like it will be just over a month from putting my deposit down to taking delivery. If you have multiple dealers close to you, I would contact all of them and ask what they can do for you.

Just talked to the dealer. Truck is still scheduled for 3/2-3/7, but location is at the port of Portland rail yard. (That's just across the river, so it's within 15 miles of me) Also, when I called State Farm to ask about insuring it, they said they also finance, so I had them give me a quote. 2.49% for 60 months. That is slightly better than my credit union that quoted me 2.74% for 60 months. FICO is 800+.

    Hey all,
Waiting on a Black 2016 DCLB TRD Sport Upgrade.
Placed my deposit on Feb 15th, for an expected delivery of mid-March. Got news today that they expect it on March 7th, so pretty happy about that. We shall now see if it actually gets here.
(When I ordered, I was told that if I wanted a cooler other than black, it might take 5-6 months for the TRD sport Upgrade...)

Anyone in my neck of the woods looking to buy a 2012 DCLB TRD sport...?

it really depends on what region you are in as to how the ordering process works. For Gulf States Toyota, there are two different types of orders. The first (BOS) is what the dealer would prefer to do, which is change a truck that is already allocated to them to have the options/packages/color you want. Those changes are requested twice a month, and the dealer puts them in and then has to wait to see if the request is accepted. The more significant the change, the less likely the order is to be picked up. It seems at least here in GST territory (where they don't give the dealers many DCLB trucks as standard allocation), that those kinds of orders for DCLB trucks are not being accepted often, if at all. Depending on where the truck they are making the change on is in the current pipeline to be made, you might get one of these orders in a few weeks or maybe 2 months at the longest.

The other type of order is a "Sold order vehicle request" (SOVR), which can only be submitted one time per month by dealers, and is basically a request for an unallocated truck to be made in whatever form you want. Those orders are not taking a truck that is already in the pipeline, but instead are getting in at the end of the currently allocated list if you will, so they are generally going to result in several months of waiting. A dealer rep posting on another thread (who did a great job explaining the info above) said that his current wait on SOVRs is around 4 months.

My dealer placed my SOVR back in November and got confirmation it was accepted in mid-December. My DCLB TRD OR BBP P&T w/ JBL and towing pkg just went from port processing to shipped today and should be at the dealer at the end of this week or early next week.

Yeah, I first started trying to order the truck in late September. They tried several times to do an allocation order and were unable to get it accepted. They finally submitted the SOVR in November.

Went to the Toyota dealer today, ordered my 2016 TRD DC OR 4X4 today. Waiting to hear back tomorrow. I know a guy in management that works there and I am able to get one without the prem package crap, with tow package for 31,800.00 other dealers want 38k for it so I got it way below msrp. I will hear a build date Friday. The guy is allocating it as a regular order that they make once or twice a month, its just going to have the options I want. Hopefully its not longer then 2 months.

Ordered in early November. Cancelled order in January due to shady dealer and placed new order out of state. Just got a text yesterday that my truck arrived at the dealership in Ohio over the weekend. Now just waiting on transport to pick it up and bring it to me all the way in California. The closer I get to finally having it, the more impatient I am becoming.

Basically how my process went (or is currently going) as well. I lost count of all the BOS changes attempted. Ordered Oct 29th, BOS change finally went through a couple of weeks ago. Build date during the last week of this month, delivery mid-April.

I ordered my 2016 Black TRD Sport DCSB on January 2, dealer said these were 8-12 weeks on average. Got the e-mail today that delivery to dealer is expected between March 10-14! Finally!!! My wife was worried I wouldn't sell my Dodge truck so I put it up for sale 3 weeks ago & sold it within a week, so SHE'S been without a ride for the last couple weeks. Now she's just as excited about me getting my new truck as I am!

My dealer called today, they're getting a trade from another dealer. Looks like I may have my truck by the weekend!

Lucky lucky. I'm kind of foaming and getting irrational at this point. I check my Email a dozen times a day. It was in Chicago two days ago on rail. Ughh

Haha I am literally in the same boat. Wife thought I would never sell my "04 BMW. Sold super quick and after a delay in getting my new truck we have been carpooling for over a month. She is definitely excited to not have to share a car anymore.

I'll believe it when I see it.... First the arrival, and then the not so fun part... the negotiations, the trade in, financing. I dread those things.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I also send my dealer a daily email checking on the status.
