The X mount is a little quicker to use. With the Mob you have to unscrew the Knob in the back, and slide the holding Bracket up, witch isn't a big deal. I just preferred the X mount. There both solid brackets. It has the Mob Armor factory 1" ball installed on the back, so it's ready to go. I was going to mount it on the boat, but decided not to. It's just sitting on one of my parts Shelf. There's no hurry, think about it.

Hmmm. Sounds like a 2-handed affair. I know I will want quickness. I was looking at this one. The top grips just flip over to capture the phone, and the side grips are adjustable to avoid covering any side buttons on the phone.

That'll work good also. The Xgrip I'm running doesn't affect the side controls on my phone. Maybe because of the lifeproof case.

The Quick-Grip really is quick. That top spring loaded grip slides up and down while the sides and bottom grips are stationary. Inserting phone is just putting the top edge of the phone against the top grip and pushing up a bit until the bottom clears the lower fixed grip and then let go. Removing phone just as easy, grab and push up a bit until bottom clears the lower grip and tip the phone out bottom first. Can be done one handed in an instant. I never leave my phone in the truck so when I'm running around Vegas provisioning and what not I'm constantly putting the phone in and out of the cradle.

Now I have mine oriented vertically (because strangely I like to see more of what is coming in front of me on a map rather than what is passing me to the sides - I still can't fathom why so many old GPS units had landscape orientation displays). It'd probably work fine sideways too (heck I tested mine upside-down out of curiosity and the springs held the phone fine even off road).

When you get some time get the Slaker Radio app and try it. Add it to the entune app and all that. It's similar to Pandora. You can set it up for your own stations and other options when viewing your account on a PC.

Edit: This is my Chili Peppers Station.

Goddamn, flashback to Close Encounters of the Furred Kind

In other news, finally got the the Bluetooth to behave after deleting my phone from Entune and then re-pairing devices. Which, I have found, Entune is much buggier and weird than it used to be. Wife had issue with her iPhone too.

I made it through the whole weekend without it turning into a garbled mess again, so it appears I am finally able to reliably stream "Wheels on the Bus..." now.

My kingdom for a pile of small victories right now...

Need to rotate the Coopers. 2k overdue. Almost have enough room in the garage to do it. But this fucking on going heatwave shit is getting pretty tiresome and makes it hard to find work time. This is the hottest June and July I can ever recall in Sac, and we are headed for another ~105 weekend AGAIN, like almost the third in a row.

Kid's room is above garage, so at night I can only do quieter stuff and not operate the garage doors. Garage needs ceiling insulation over 2 bays (which is very accessible, and has ~10-inch deep joist bays), and the steel rollup doors also need to be insulated. Will make the entire garage far more tolerable, and should help keep the entire upstairs be cooler in general and give the AC a bit of a break.

When my FIL gets back in town, I'll see what we can do to start making some of that happen.

Also looking at some sidewinder garage door motors to free up ceiling space for lights and hanging storage, and much quieter operation.
