Engineered joists run crossways, so each of those 2x6 plates is lag screwed to about 6 joists. The pulley anchors are special lag pigtail hooks that come in the Harken kit.

There is no access above. Those are bedroom floors. So through-bolting is not an option.

The kit is 200 lb capacity, so the load is very dispersed and minimized to the joists.

I'm going to add secondary eyes for ratchet straps, too. The Harken system include great hardware and a line lock integrated into the block and pulley system, but I added a wall cleat for a additional safety, and I also don't want to rely on that line lock for stopping 200 pounds and thousands of dollars of damage, or maiming or death, IYKWIM.

Those are nice, but I just followed the spec in the Harken instructions. They provide the special stuff, and specify the hardware to match the buyer's install situation. I didn't see any reason to deviate, and it will make any lawsuits slightly more straightforward.

My aesthetic tends toward Black Watch or Campbell, but to be a dick, I'd have to pick McLeod or even Buchanan

@DoorDing must be quite the traffic stopping show, when you and your dad are installing the bus stop shelters. Do you add your phone# to the shelter for a good measure of marketing?

Good to see you aspire, and look up to to the hi ideals your father has shown you. That can be a rare trait these days.
