Ok, I'm new to the watch game. Never really had a good one. I'm looking for some ideas for my 50th B-day. There are so many choices, but I wanted some real world input on watches in the 300-450 range.

Let me hear what you think!

I'm not set on anything yet as far as style or color. I just know I like a big watch. Why? 'Cuz I'm not a small guy...

    Thanks!

    Nice one!
Citizen eco drive's are pretty nice, seiko, casio, swiss army, lumi knox, all quality watches for decent prices.

Don't know how I missed this thread. I've always liked watches / clocks. My grandfather was a clock maker.

Any way I have a Seiko Coutura for everyday. Thing takes a beating. Big fan of the perpetual calendar. It keeps up with leap year. I have a super thin Movado for the few times I dress up (weddings and funerals) but the damn battery is dead. Another reason I love my Seiko for the kenetic energy.

For a watch in that price range I'd take a look at Casio's Edifice line.

Watches and cars are my two vices..

Currently have a Omega Planet Ocean, a Breitling SO in Abyss Yellow 2 and a Tag Grand Carrera.

Got to put on a $65000 Ulysse Nardin El Toro when I was in the Bahamas this past summer. Cool watch, so far out of my budget though.

I took my Gshock through hell this weekend in a 15 mile obstacle course race. After I was done it was caked in mud and who knows what else. I cleaned it up with water and an old toothbrush and its as good as new :D

I had a Gshock and it did not survive mt biking.......no crashes involved, just sweat, rain, mud and cleaning. It choked. But all my abused up Timex's still work perfectly until they drain their batteries. Some of them I have had for decades and been thru several batteries in the favorites. Nobody is gonna jack ya for your Timex either, lol.

thats pretty much it in a nutshell. i would use it to go out. but my personal favorites are these two. i like the way they look and the aviation series have that weight to them.
