So, while driving down the road yesterday, I felt my truck suddenly drop and saw my front drivers side wheel and tire rolling to the other side of the highway. I controlled the truck as well as I could and guided it into the median. I got out and saw that the studs on my wheel spacers had sheared off. Now, here's the reason I posted this thread, I don't like wheel spacers but currently can't afford the wheels I want. My question is how good are the Spidertrax spacers and at they as good as people say? I need a new set, but do not want spacers that aren't worth a d**m. If anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it. Thanks

I'll get pics up tomorrow, the truck is back in New Albany and I'm in Oxford today. And these are spacers my friend used for awhile with no issues, I'm not sure where he got them them but they are 1.5" spacers and apparently are no good. If the Spidertrax are worth the money that's what I'll be buying

spidertrax and bora are the two big names. Make sure you are torquing them by hand and dont trust any shop not to run that shit in with an impact wrench!!!

spidertrax ftw. do not over torque. I called ST this weekend, to get torque spec, and its 85 ft/lbs on gen 2's, same as lugs. check torque every now and again too. you can correct the thread title typos if you like, in the thread tools upper right drop down

Wow, thanks for the quick replies guys. And as far as damage goes, I'm not sure yet. I was going about 60, and slid on the asphalt till I got in the median. The rotor is definitely ruined, maybe the lower ball joint and control arm. Maybe some spindle damage. Won't know for sure till I get it on the lift. I will post some pics tomorrow

Not sure, they are just some aluminum spacers we had at the shop.

Did you torque them down right? Use a torque wrench correctly? Use locktite? Use a impact gun? Use a tire iron?

Torqued, yes with a torque wrench. No loctite but I rotate my tires every 1,000 miles (because super swampers) and checked them fairly regularly.

I am blaming a 200 lb gorilla on this and not the spacers.

    But if you say so.

They were torqued to 85 ft lbs, maybe that was two much, maybe it wasn't. Either way, I don't care, the studs sheared off all the same. All I want to know is if the Spidertrax will hold better, and from the way people talk they will.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't run wheel spacers. Get the proper wheel to serve your needs, with the proper "stance" that you want. Buy once, cry once.

Did the factory wheel studs shear or did the wheel studs on the spacers shear?
