today I went over to my fab shop to talk next build items.

    Going to build:
    • vertical tire mount in bed near rear of truck (can't fully open tailgate with Pelfrey High Clearance bumpers D-ring mount and wilco swing out tire carrier.
    • battery box mount nuder truck to feed Sno Master Fridge and be powered by 100Watt solar panel
    • Build articulating arm mount to mount solar panel to side of bed rack where 1 set of rotopax cans are, so that I can tilt panel any direction to face sun.
    • make rear frame mounts for Fox IFP hydro bumpstops

what a glorious time to be alive.

Some of those off-road pics look like some of the trails in the cajon pass. Used to take those every now and then before I left cali.

Got all my solar build items. Renogy 150wt panel, 40a mppt controller, 6V 234ah batteries. Dropping truck off for fab work for panel storage to bed cage, battery box, and controller mount as well as Fox IFP bumpstops for rear and picked up some 285/70/17 Wildpeak MT's and gonna run cast SIX while new wheels are being built.

Panel will be mounted below top of bed rack for storage and driving when tent it on with mounts that can swivel around to the top of the bedrack for times when tent isnt on truck.

New tires are roughly the same OD as the AT3/W 265/70/18 (both listed as 32.9) and only weight 3 pounds more.

    Rotiform CCV.

We're actually cutting a forged set to test design as a smaller truck wheel

Those are hot, kinda like a modern salad shooter wheel. Wonder how they'd look in 16's...if you need anyone to test them out on an inferno I'll be glad to make the drive down there ;)

Made a round one enclosure for the batteries and solar controller. Gonna go back this weekend and remake the box a bit shorter as I don't need all the depth as well as a different glue for the material. It lifted in areas. Just received 2 fans and temp controller. Got new latches and turnbuckles from McMaster Carr to replace the Home Depot specials

Just need a couple of trim pieces to finish off the edges and hide my shit cuts.

Recovered in a rubberized vinyl, installed the ac infinity dual fan kit and controller. Still need to install side port exhaust fans, inverter and battery cut off switch.

Damn nice work. Stupid question - how do you keep the elements like rain, snow and what not? Maybe I'm missing something?

Got the battery bank all mocked up. Inverter in for fans. Kill switch for inverter. Controller mocked into place. Batteries mocked into place. Currently the large dual fans pull air from box. I have one more single fan I'll place on the side panel opposite the inverter side to draw air in. Will probably need to resolve dirt / dust being drawn in but I'll deal with that damn wn the road.

Gonna run vibration foam under batteries. Make some form of battery securing mount. Run plugs in holes where wires pass through box.

Doh! What moron ran that kill switch and wasn't thinking about how the switch functions

Got the chance to run the new high country tent. Goes up in minutes. The bedding seems thicker and nicer than the cvt with a quilted top. Pretty big with lots of room for the wife and dog.

Solar mounted below tent for travel. Might end up with a front runner rack

Ordering up new icon rxt leaf pack and 700# springs tomorrow.

Got my fox ifp bumpstops in as well
