I’m very careless with money while my wife is a tight wod, and to make matters worse we just had our first baby boy (there will be another baby down the road in a year or two) and she wants to buy a house now and go on “vacations”.

I have no idea what I want to accomplish in this build and I don’t even know if you can call this a build, but I figured what the heck.

I currently have 2017 OR DCSB magnetic Grey. Premium tech package. I got a pretty good deal on it. Sticker was like 41 or something close to that. I ended up just paying a shade over 36-37 K and I got them to make my first 3 months of payments. Basically they cut me a check for 1,500$. This is my daily driver/work truck so I will/have be raking up the miles on it. I bought on June 1st and the odometer is at 9,5XX miles or so.

    List of current Mods:
    - OEM Tacoma all-weather mats
    - Center console 6 slot organizer
    - plastidipped grille and badges (removed due to chipping. I plan on either line-x the grill or wrapping it.)
    - Tacomapros Raptor Headlights

    With the plastidipped grill

Seriously considering a stage 1 fox suspension kit. The ol’ lady is really dragging her feet on this one. @HeadStrong Off-Road

    Stay tuned.

You can always do what I did. Three of the four shocks were leaking, I told my wife that the shocks are blown and I need new shocks..... Then go with full King's, or in your case Fox. Just make sure you have a comfortable couch when she discovers how much they were.

Recognition of the problem is the first step to a cure.

    Here's a thought.

If the truck is paid for, some useful mods that support how the truck is used are reasonable to negotiate.

If it's not paid for, work on that first.

A stable financial environment for your children, a home, and the adventure of travel are not bad things to have in your life.

Bought @CaliRaisedLed new faux TRD Pro Grill and a new side decal to replace the oem TRD off-road one from my man @CBoy808. Grill comes at the end of the month. Stickers came Tuesday and will be getting them on the truck tomorrow.

Now as far as new suspension goes, the ol’ ball and chain and I had it out a couple nights ago about my insistence on getting the truck new suspension. I just bought her like a 370$ rug, and then I agreed on 250$ pictures/family Christmas cards and then let her go get a mani/pedi. I did this in the hopes that I would be able to be like well you just spent close to $600 plus dollars on things you want to do.. what about my wants women. After some careful consideration and thinking I decided it would be best to approach her while she was taking a shower. It’s probably her favorite part of the day. She’s in there at least 30-40 minutes at a time doing god knows what. Anyways, to make this long story short, I was originally given the ok to spend 850$ on new suspension. I wanted to do the install myself for the fun of it/save costs and I also did not tell her about the additional cost of an alignment. Figured I’d play dumb and just bring it up after the damage was done. After scorching the internet looking for the best damn deal I could find, I realized that in my quest to get the purchase over with I was settling for a suspension that ultimately would not fulfill my builds needs. So after talking it over with her, I’m going to hold off until April (birthday month) and then make the purchase. Unless of course I find a deal that can’t be turned down. In doing so I also scored because she said I could make some “smaller” purchases for the truck. I plan on re-doing the fog lights. I’ve got a pretty good deal worked out for some rigid dully amber fogs and I also want to get a bed mat as well. Any suggestions on what else I could?

Pretty happy with the results. A couple bubbles probably could be a little straighter but overall I’m satisfied!

    Thanks @CBoy808

Just got a tacoma OEM bed mat. I’ll take a picture tonight after I put down my little man. We’re driving to burnet Texas for thanksgiving with her family. I told her if we’re going to take my truck then a bed mat was needed. She thought I was full of shit and basically blew it off until today (we leave tomorrow). To prove my point I threw a bunch of shit in the back and drove around our neighborhood and she got the message. I’m really itching to purchase a new suspension. Also I picked up the bed mat for 118$ at toyota dealership that I hadn’t been to before and they had TRD pro accessories galore. Rigid industries lights, TRD skid, shift knob, wheels, etc. I talked to the parts manager for like 30 minutes working him over on the rigid lights. I told him I would come back in a month and if they were still there we were going to work something out. I’m screwed.
