was walking on the beach at 3:30am (i worked 2nd shift, so, i was up weird hours) with head phones on (real stupid in hind-sight); so, didn't hear/see them coming
the guys admitted to being all meth'ed out, with none left; and no money to get any more
so, when they saw me... they robbed me

but, gosh damn... you don't need to nearly kill someone to rob them
they took turns beating me too, as if it were a game; one would crack my head and another would be look-out
also, i'm a fairly reasonable man: if 4 dudes with clubs and brass knuckles nicely asked for all of my money... i would glady give it them. haha

they got ratted on by one of the guys girlfriends that became his x-girlfriend

I agree 100000%. I've never had that many but I did have three in a period of a month and a half. The last one that I had wasn't passable so they had to go in and break it up so I could pass it.

Herniating my disc because at the time I didn't know proper form for deadlifts. Somehow walked slowly out of the gym but literally crawled from my car into my house. Every slight movement even when lying down would send a shooting pain down my spine.

Similar - two fully blown disc in my neck. Pain got to be so excruciating I could hardly move without feeling like my upper spine was going to snap - the pain more so just radiated, but it was horrible for about a month. My family physician said I pulled a muscle, I tried to tell him that wasn't it. But he just gave me muscle relaxers that did squat. The pain took over my right upper shoulder area and entire left arm. Got worse and worse until I went to the ER and had an MRI done, they were baffled, had I been in a serious car wreck or something. Saw two spine specialist and ultimately had to have surgery to repair my neck and it took years to get nerve feeling back in parts of my left arm. I could barely lift any weight with my left tricep. The nerves just weren't firing to the muscle or something. That was the basic end to my mixed martial arts days and contact sports. 4 years later I am back to 100%. I elected not to have a fusion done to keep mobility in my neck but am at a higher risk for re-injury. If there is a next time it could be worse.

    x 100 this!!

+ dislocated my wrist and shattered bones in my hand falling off a ladder. I'll never forget looking down and seeing my hand sitting ontop of my forearm. I shudder at the memory.

+1 to the tonsils. I had my throat dug out and deviated septum fixed. Boy do I sleep ALOT better now. However, those 12 days of not being able to swallow even water without crying SUCKED. Liquid codeine only took the edge off and left me a slobbering vegetable.

I do have a broken disc at L3. When it first happened the front half of my left leg went numb for a month. Trying to walk was excruciating pain since the remaining muscles were doing all the work. Even a cane didn't help.

Geez, reading the other posts in here I'm definitely a lightweight in comparison. Ya'll have had some GRUESOME injuries!

Amen, brother. My first marriage was 6 years of absolute hell. I dealt with emotions I never want to experience again. An angel sent me the lady I have now, though.

    1. When I was 18 I blew out my entire eardrum and damaged my inner ear, water skiing. I had no idea and continued water skiing once I got my wits about me. It just felt like I had water "stuck" in my ear. An old water skiing trick is to put a couple of drops of rubbing alcohol in your ear and it helps evaporate the water. My Dad poured rubbing alcohol into my ruptured ear and needless to say that was very painful. I ripped his pedestal sink out of his bathroom wall before collapsing into a heap on the floor.

    2. When I was 16 I got cluster headaches. Hurt so bad I was delirious and hallucinating.

Not even close and I've had more than a few gingivectomies where they shoot both sides of every tooth.....and when it wears off halfway through, they shoot again. Pooper is VERY tender.
