I have owned a lot of Toyotas/Lexus vehicles, but only 3 Toyota trucks. All started with the 89 in Longmont CO, T100 & Tundra in Austin, TX (all brand new). I'm currently in a Lexus LS500 but miss having a truck (1st truck in high school was a 1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super short box 2X4).

So, I joined Tacomaworld to glean information about all the models - what they come with / don't come with, but most importantly - to find out if the Tacoma will just be another Tundra nightmare. Yes, I expect SOME problems, but not major problems that plummet the resale price of Toyota truck. First and only Toyota (Truck & Car) I was ever disappointed with.

From my initial readings it appears the largest concern is the transmission TSB. I have not read whether this has been fixed with all new builds, or if it is an ongoing concern like the "Tundra engine debris issue". I'll keep poking around all the information posted.

Anyway, look forward to this journey. Love vehicles and enjoy the hunt.

Welcome! After putting well over 300k on my 06 Tundra, but having a friend lamenting his 2022 Tundra being in the shop more than on the road for the first two years, I knew I'd be going to the Tacoma, rather than the gen 3 Tundra.

I went with a gen 3 Tacoma for a few reasons, but I've heard mostly good stuff about the new ones. Good luck!
