I have a killswitch alarm. Also a very big loud dog that’s not too friendly. And a 14 in Bowie knife and an 18 in machete.

It is not just Toyota. It is most cars with PTS. Only in the last couple MYs have they changed the PTS fobs to turn off when not moving.

I am just disappointed that Toyota has reverted to this instead of opening their factories and just building new Tacomas ...

    I kid. I kid.

install a kill switch somewhere hidden. Just be careful your kids might find it while your driving down the highway and your vehicle will stall!! I know because I did it to my dad when I was much younger!!

If they really want your vehicle they could pull it onto a flatbed in two minutes.

Best way to prevent it to me would be to continue your sos service, it's just like onstar and they can tell you exactly where it is

About 75% of the 3rd Gen Tacos on the road don't have that, including the OP. Probably a similar amount of 2020s folks won't continue the service after the free period ends.

Back in the day when we had it, OnStar was a joke of a service for our needs. The couple times that we gave it a shot, it was a total failure.

Also as soon as the Taco is in a container or metal garage, tracking is gone.

Your right bout that even I'm not paying that outrageous amount per year to keep it. I keep my 2020 in the garage and what I was using b4 that on my other 1's was the Club steering wheel lock. You remember those. I steal have it but I'm not going back to using it again

I like how there's always at least one person who says something stupid like this. It's usually these people who when actually put in to the situation just freeze and piss their pants. It's easy to talk the talk, but when faced with the reality of opting to take someone's life over a possession, it's not worth it.

To me it's just a piece of property and I would never condone confronting anyone if they were stealing your truck nor am I paranoid about it getting stolen either. But I am from texas and we do love our guns here so if you have a gun I'm sure there are plenty of folks that would have bo problem stopping them if given a chance

OP is from Canada. I assume the maple syrup sticky traps in the driveway weren't enjoy to deter the thieves. I doubt they even said, "sorry eh" after they stole it.

Bottom line is with anything. If someone wants it's bad enough they will get it 1 way or another. Anything man builds to prevent theft there will always be a way to get around it
