    So I had a thought.
What would prevent someone from installing a full time four wheel drive drive train on a Tacoma or similar platform.

Im assuming what will have to change is the ECU, Tranny(?), T-case, ctr Diff with lock, wiring harnesses galore.

What would be the benefits and disadvantages associated?

    Thoughts? Discussion?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Your project Lets hear your ideas ?? All wheel Drive is somewhat different then full time 4 wheel drive.

What would be your overall endgame here just what are you looking for?

This seems more of a because I can project . I can see no major advantage.

To me AWD allows the clueless to drive even more like idiots.

Emergency Response or POR vehicles why build just buy a manufactured vehicle.

The biggest major problem would be the expense of the project.

Without doing lots of research into this project this is all guess work.

I would think many fabricated parts and wiring . If things fail your looking at building new parts far from home quite expensive.

No matter which of several ways one might approach this project I see lots of fabrication.

It would be a lot less trouble and expense to buy a full time 4WD.
