There is only one reason why I "hate" owning a truck....can you guess what it is?

It's the constant "Can you take your truck and pick this up for me?". I am fucking sick of it! It all started about 1992 when I bought my first truck a 1986 Toyota 4X4. I did not even own it for two days and my father-in-law asked me to go pick up a new lazy boy recliner that he just bought yesterday. If its not neighbors, it's friends or relatives that do not own trucks and never will. I BOUGHT MY TRUCK TO HAUL MY SHIT, NOT YOUR FUCKING SHIT. That is what I want to say everytime someone asks me to "haul" something for them. My neighbor just called me here at work this morning and asked me to take my truck and trailer and go pick up some furniture that he just bought from a lady. It not even in the city where we live. This same neighbor, who has never owned a fucking truck in his life, constantly asks me to haul shit. He always says " I'll give you some gas money and buy some beer". Fuck that, I want you to go buy a truck and leave me the fuck alone. Sorry.......just had to vent!

......about a month ago, my other neighbor , who of course, does not own a fucking truck, asked me to go to Wal-mart and pick up his new porch furniture. It's endless.....

Same here. Good thing my sister decided to stay at school or else I'd have to take another 5.5 hour trip to PA to pick up stuff and usually drive back the same night just because there's nothing to do in Glenside, PA.

I love my truck but it's kind of sucks to have to pass up a parking spot because my truck is too long. Why don't I drive my girlfriend's car? Because I LOVE MY TRUCK. :D Well sometimes I drive her car but I just feel cooler in my truck.

    GENIOUS!!!!!

haha man helping other people move shit comes with the territory. I have to admit though, before I had a truck I was borrowing other people's trucks to move stuff, pick stuff up, to go camping, etc. That's why I finally decided to get one on my own!

What's the big deal? I love to drive mine and always look at it as another chance to do so. However, with the exception of my parents, I always make sure everyone ponies up for the gas and beer fund. That shit ain't free and neither is the use of me and my truck. :D

I charge ridiculous fees. Double the gas money plus beer of my choice.

Also, I say, "I'm the driver, not the loader." I'm not wrecking my back for someone's crap.

Haha, I wasn't thinking this thread was going in this direction. I agree with you all though, I would say the only thing I hate about my truck is its a little small on the inside if you guys know what I mean, sometimes hard to get in that right position! :)

Yes. We all know this too well. After having my truck for only 36 hours I was asked to move a family member, which I had to do. :(

I had to borrow trucks all the time which sucked because I always filled the gas tank (they let me drive) and I'd sometimes throw in a yard mow if I happened to be hauling a mower.

I used to get asked often for the use of my truck (and me). After saying "Yes" for 30 years, I now most often say "No." I'm selective - the chances of me helping you move are in direct proportion to your bra size.

I do however, offer rejected borrowers use of my trailer. I tell them that they can tow it with anything that has a 2-inch ball - anything but my truck. Some rejected borrowers are a bit offended, in spite of being offered an option. Oh well. It's their tough luck if they don't want to borrow a vehicle with a hitch or have a hitch installed on their vehicle.
