So I changed my pads a couple weeks ago and these pads are supposed to be quiet. Th parts guy said the pads didn't need the old shims or the gel that goes on the back of the pad. So why are they squeaking when I press the brake. I even got on the interstate a few times and stopped from about 75 to 10. They stop squeaking after that for a little while but then shortly after they're back at it. Any thoughts guys?

No gease or Shims = Squeak, shouldve have stayed with the OEM pads they come with new shims and you can apply a little anti squeak grease yourself=no squeak,no dust, long life, durability,no hassles

I've had the Thermo Quiet's on 2 vehicles before. One was an 02 Dakota, where they worked just fine, no squeal. The other was an 02 Mazda Tribute, and on it, had the same problems as you. They squealed. Took 'em apart and applied some disk brake quiet, no love, tried a different product, no love. Just had to live with it.

Thanks for the input. Even the grease didn't work for you then? I'm about to take them off and get some different ones if I can't any way of fixing it. The sqeak is driving me crazy.

I have had good luck with the thermo quiet pads, sounds like the pads are glazed. Did you turn the rotors when changing the pads?

The rotors looked good so I didn't bother with turning them.
