Definitely no loss I believe. I’ll find out tomorrow. Regardless, going for the total loss.

Actually it’s not, 95% of dealers don’t have a body shop and use the same shops that insurance companies use. Also on top of that if you use a network shop the repairs are guaranteed so if something does come up it’s on the insurance company to have it fixed

Toyota doesn’t do “safe lease” like BMW for example. Essentially extra lease insurance so you don’t have to worry about anything (like that). If the other people have insurance then they should repair it back to stock and hopefully ur Toyota dealer where you leased it ,accepts (which they probably should)

Now.. if was me.... I’d take the fat insurance check you are about to get , and add cbi front full metal bumper + cbi high clearance rear bumper + extras goodies . I would then buy the truck at the end of lease cuz it’s a flipping Tacoma which is worth more than gold. This makes the most sense fun wise and even financially. Even a three year old salvaged truck , with all that aftermarket crap will still sell for super high prices .... go on Craigslist and just look at what gen3s are going for used , salvage title, modified, high mileage what ever ... it’s all $$$$$$$$

    going to be fun!
In the case where your vehicle can be repaired, you have the repairs made, continue your lease as normal, and return or purchase it at lease-end.

However, there’s one note of caution. Since your vehicle has been involved in an accident, it’s trade and resale value may be diminished. Although the insurance company may have made a “diminished value” payment to you or the lease company, if you try to trade or sell the leased car, a dealer or potential buyer may use the accident as a way to low-ball the price. By returning the car, or buying it at lease-end, you bypass those potential problems. Do not be tempted to end the lease early as you will suffer the value loss due to the accident.

Yes true. But trade in dealer value based off the “books”. The true private party value will be insanely high still despite all the issues.

I think others have already noted you have a FL tag and FL is a "no fault" insurance state. I don't live in FL, and don't claim to be an expert, but "no fault" means you will only be dealing with your own insurance company. Insurance obligation is to "make you whole", which basically means they return you to where you were before the accident. Therefore, unless the truck is totaled, you won't be getting a new truck. Since yours is a lease, there is no "diminished value" to worry about either. #1 piece of advice I have is to read your insurance policy and understand what it affords you in terms of relief. Years ago, I worked as a Homeowner's Insurance adjuster and the biggest arguments typically came from people who did not understand what their policy covered, and what it didn't. Contrary to common myth, I never once saw the insurance company deny something I thought was legit. In fact, it was quite the opposite. They almost always favored the policyholder in gray area issues.

Glad you weren't seriously injured and hope everything works-out in the end.

Now why would I be receiving a fat check ? Isn’t the insurance just going to pay for what has to be fixed.

Uhh ya that’s like 5-12k worth of damages if not more. With that cash you can order all the aftermarket cool kid parts for 5 k .... you need new bumpers correct? And rear quarter panel is damaged... that gets removed with an aftermarket high clearance bumper ...

Some examples of how easy it is to sell a taco despite not being stock and clean . Make no mistake. You don’t have a normal used vehicle. Don’t let the dealer or insurance fool you ... you have a Tacoma which for some reason people will pay anything for lol
